I think that Oscar will retire after this fight. Shame really, I wanted to see him fight Margarito!
I think that Oscar will retire after this fight. Shame really, I wanted to see him fight Margarito!
It would not even be a close fight, Margarito would hit ODLH once to the body and ODLH would fold and in a faster manner than he did against Hopkins.
Wait, here will come chino saying that Miguel fights his first prime fighter and then lost, which is bullshiet, because the last prime fighter was Quintana. Cotto beat Quintana, Quintana beat Paul WilliamsPaul Williams beat Antonio Margarito, HELLO! Cotto beat Quintana in 5 rounds, it took Paul Williams 13 rounds. Why isn't Tony calling out Williams? I wonder why that is? There are only 3 fighters today who are willing to face Margarito and those are Clottey, Williams and Cotto. Credit to Cintron for trying. Cotto is not a ducker and Cotto has beat plenty of fighters that were undefeated before they stepped in the ring with him. How long has Tony been a welter? Tony is a one division fighter and that is it. This does not make him all that and I do believe that in the rematch, Miguel will win. But for now Chino, you may go on talking pendejadas, but you shall see. I am not trying to take anything away from Tony but you are trying to take away from Miguel. Which makes you a pendenjo at best.
So chino, please shut the phuk up with that same bullshiet you have been saying over and over, enjoy the short live victory son.
Oscar will fight again because there is no one in GBP who can draw and make money like him besides Hatton. I strongly believe he will fight again. If Margarito is still champion by next summer, it will probably happen. DLH I'm sure would like his last fight to be for a championship. Also by that time Margarito will have his name out there more
De la hoya will retire the same way floyd is "retired". This current circus he putting on is kind of a dud, same with the way floyd just all of the sudden bounced. Both guys will wait for another oppurtunity for the focus to be solely on them and have this great comeback. Both of these guys have plenty of other shit they could be doing but none of it has them as the main focus, thier ego's are way to big to sit around and play in the background if they still have the phsically ability to swing thier arms. Both love money but that's not the reason, hell they both have enough to cash out now and support everyone on this board for the rest of our lives if need be thier heads are just to big. But hell as long as they are gettin people to watch and better still pay to watch, i don't blame them most fans are temporary but bills are forever !!!! I'd fight my grandma if i could get enough people to pay to watch.

The body punch to ODLH is so overrated, as overrated as Cotto. ODLH got KOed ONCE with a body punch from a way bigger guy and since then people go "Oh, next fight he's going down with a punch to the body" with every fight and nothing happens. ODLH could go down against Margarito from a punch to the body or the face or whatever, I am not saying he won't. Interesting how nobody complained about ODLH taking that fight, huh? Oh well, ODLH taking challenges as usual, his resume is enough proof.Margarito would hit ODLH once to the body and ODLH would fold and in a faster manner than he did against Hopkins
The body punch that made Cotto sit on the ropes when the fight was barely starting on round 2 was pretty good too.
*Chino hears his name mentioned and walks back to the thread*Wait, here will come Chino
Quintana is a good example of what happened to Cotto. Here you have Quintana fighting all these journeymen and when he finally faces a big name in his prime, Cotto, and not a big name going downhill, look what happens, he lost. Same thing with Cotto, he fights all these guys (who exposed him over and over and almost had the referee stop the fight) and finally gets in the ring with a big name in his prime and had his corner run up the ring to save his life.saying that Miguel fights his first prime fighter and then lost, which is bullshiet, because the last prime fighter was Quintana
You mentioned Cotto in your list but has Cotto mentioned that he wants a rematch with Margarito? I think I am missing something here. Many people, including you, talk about Mayweather and ODLH having nightmares about Margarito but I think that applies to Cotto who rather not talk about a rematch. In a way, I admire him for that. It would be a bit foolish of him to get into the ring once again with a guy who did what he did to him. You know how people say that Mayweather completely punished, humiliated, used as a doormat, destroyed, annihilitaed, made look silly, exposed, spanked, dominated, stepped on, etc. ODLH in their fight, right? Which, is way far from all that. I'll say Margarito did every one of those things to Cotto. There are only 3 fighters today who are willing to face Margarito
ODLH and Mayweather are far from being duckers. Look at their resumes.Cotto is not a ducker
Can their levels be compared to the opposition ODLH and Mayweather faced? Quinana? Already talked about him. The soft-hitting Paul Malignaggi, same thing, who did he fight before Cotto? Both of them went through the same thing as Cotto, loosing to the first REAL challenge, a big name in his prime. I mean, you were one of the many Cotto fans who made it sound as if Alfonso Gomez was one of his greatest accomplishments ever. I remember debating that one saying that he was just a stepping stone like Forbes with ODLH and Diaz with Pac which got me some negative reps and nasty pm messages from outraged sensitive Cotto fans. *sigh* Oh well. Actually, Cotto has had lots of stepping stones throughout his career if you go to his resume.and Cotto has beat plenty of fighters that were undefeated before they stepped in the ring with him
Hhhhhhmm it makes him the guy that completely punished, humiliated, used as a doormat, destroyed, annihilitaed, made look silly, exposed, spanked, dominated, and stepped on Cotto. And he's not all that? If they went to the scorecards in a close competitive fight that went back and forth then yeah, I might agree with you and look forward to a rematch. How long has Tony been a welter? Tony is a one division fighter and that is it. This does not make him all that
Margarito vs Cotto may look like what we will see with ODLH vs Pac. Maybe we'll have PAC throwing all kinds of punches that were powerful in lower weights only to have ODLH walking through them. But the difference here is that Cotto and Margarito didn't go up or down 2 or 3 weights, still, Cotto's punches looked weak against Tony as Pac may look against ODLH (I still think there is a possibility of Pac pulling a victory). Hhhhmmm...I'll start using this example in all Pac vs ODLH threads.
Sure! Keep the faith. Many, even you, thought he would win against Tony. We'll see what happens next time around.and I do believe that in the rematch, Miguel will win.
If you call the truth "pendejadas" then yeah, I guess I have said "pendejadas."But for now Chino, you may go on talking pendejadas, but you shall see
"Tony is not all that"I am not trying to take anything away from Tony
"Cotto lost because of his nose, if not, he would have won easily"
Among many other comments...you say you are not taking anything away?
Which makes you a pendenjo at best.
Shouldn't that be you? With all those topics about why he lost and should have won, pictures of Cotto drinking lemonade or walking down the sreet, etc. I'll say that same "bullshit" whenever this kind of topic comes upSo chino, please shut the phuk up with that same bullshiet you have been saying over and over. I am even tempted to start a thread about how Cotto is overrated but not as many threads as people start about how ODLH and Mayweather are terrible or as many threads about how Cotto is great and excuses why he lost.
I am plus the drama you add to it makes it even more enjoyableenjoy the short live victory son.

Pretty obvious to me that he won't retire, unless he loses embarassingly.
Boxing history has told us to never believe fighters when they say they will retire, unless they're old, suck, and just got beat by someone they were clearly better than when they were in their primes.

I think Oscar truly loves boxing since it's basically what he's done nearly all his life, but he also loves being a star and yes, the money is a huge incentive, but many people don't realize how addictive it is to have tens of thousands of people chanting your name, which is what all athletes will lose forever once they step away.
DLH is just trying to take some of the heat away that he's getting from not taking on a real opponent. No knock against Pac but he's definitely not of size to be in the ring with DLH. That's just stating a fact.
As far as chino is concerned, Oscar could do no wrong and he always has an excuse for the guy and defends him to the end. I'm ok with that and that's what fans do.
I'm just doing what realists do. Oscar took extremely calculated steps his whole career and it's just now that people are starting to notice and that's a shame.
All you hear is how he fought all the guys in his generation but if you look at the timing of those fights, you can clearly see that those guys are their peak of vulnerability. Even hopkins seems to have fought a different fight with dlh without mauling and that tells me that they had a partnership deal in place before the fight.
I could go on about it but I'll just leave it at this. dlh has very little cred as far as I'm concerned.
