    Default Mayweather's Defense

Since someone posted a couple of GIFS, let's throw a vid out there to showcase Floyd's defensive mastery.

Not a Mayweather fan either but I have to admit that after Castillo II, Hatton, and ODLH, I don't see ANYBODY beating him and now that he's retired I'll have to live with the fact that I could never see him loose .

I think the only guy who might have been better defensively was Niccolino Locche

And yes, I give Floyd the edge over both Pep and Whitaker, because while they had insane quickness and reflexes, I don't believe either one of them could stand in the pocket and avoid shots like Mayweather.

I'm impressed with the effect of Roger's padwork. All those moves, including the pivots, shifts, and turning his opponent at the elbow was worked on with the mitts. Floyd is the epitome of all of Roger's best efforts, as well as he does it better than most.
If you hear a voice within you saying that I am not a painter, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.

Theres different variations of defense guys like Willie Pep and Pernell Whitaker just used there reflexes alone where as Floyd Mayweather Jr is more of a textbook defensive fighter.

You forgot to mention people with the type of defense Carlos Baldomir, Antonio Margarito, Librado Andrade, and Ricardo Mayorga have. I don't think they've given it a name yet but they basically can get away with blocking numerous punches with their face.

With a chin like margarito and constant workrate to eventually wear you down i don't think it really matters unless the other guy has a great chin himself and boxes better...even then margo will keep on the attack..
