Haye still seeking foe!
Thursday, September 4 2008
Former unified cruiserweight champion-turned-heavyweight David Haye believes heavyweight boxers refuse to fight him because "they know it's going to be their last fight." He has yet to find an opponent for his debut fight at the O2 Arena in London on November 15th. Haye told Setanta Sports News that he was in talks with four heavyweight boxers for the fight later this year and that one unnamed boxer had backed out. "He agreed the money, he agreed the fight, the date; everything was sorted. Obviously he's gone home and watched some DVDs of me in action and made a U-turn. He thought I was just a cruiserweight champion but he's watched me in action and thought to himself "he's no ordinary cruiserweight."

Haye also revealed that money was an issue, claiming that many of the names touted were fighting for their pension. "They've come in with some ridiculous figures. A lot more than I'll be making from the fight after all's said and done. They realize they're not only going to get beat, but they'll get violently smashed."

In an odd way,I'd hate to see Rahman some what rewarded with such a big scale spot light fight here.Think what you will of Haye but he gets the headlines and generates huge interest right now.Rahman's "desire" was questionable and wanning last outing and I would not be surprised to see Haye tune him up badly should they fight.
