Cute me did he not start out at light welter and had to move down i think if he moves up he needs to find some defence or he is going to be out of their either there is going to be a good chin power guy or a slick boxer going to end him so he needs some defence

When your punching well regarded world class boxers 50 times or more a round, big power doesn't matter so much, and at 135 there are no guys who you describe. I do agree that with a Hatton or Paulie he may struggle, but he's a 135lber, when he moves up in weight he'll be more mature and it may not be an issue. Your right though bro I follow what your saying. For now I think that his strength will be plenty at 135. Talk of 140 for him now is premature.

Yes and if you notice that's when most of his KO/TKOs took place.
But also when you start off as a pro your trying out your weight your still not sure how it's gonna go. He fought above 140 so I mean they were just tryinig out to see how it wen't. Maybe at that time he was still too young and couldn't fill out 140 all that well.

If you've been following his career you'll notice hes vastly improved well over the course of time. His defense was by far the best I've seen it and his offense just went over the top man... The way he was putting punches together with 5, 6, 7 punch combinations I mean that will just overwhelm someone.

I took the time to do something here since a "big emphasis" is being put on these decisions Juan has.

Let's look at his opponents hes had since becoming a champion. (KO/TKO & RTD are the same IMO)
    Sim UD 12 - 4 loses never been KO'd
Lorcy UD 12 -4 loses never been KO'd
Irwin TKO 9 - 6 loses 1 by KO (Juan)
    Cruz TKO 5 - 16 loses 6 by KO
    Cotto UD 12 - 1 loss never been KO'd
Suico TKO 9 - 3 loses 1 by KO (Juan)
    Angulo UD 12 - 4 loses 1 by KO
    Freitas TKO 8 - 2 loses 2 by KO
    Diaz TKO 9 - 4 loses 3 by KO

3 of those fighters have never been stoped, 2 of them have loses but Juan is their only TKO loss. I personally think people are looking too much into his power punching here.

I might be putting too much stock in this kid, but I'd take Diaz over Hatton 6 days of the week and maybe on Sunday too They'll come together like bulls, but I see Diaz being stronger and the punch output much higher, especially the way Diaz puts super fast combos up top, and repeatedly. I just see him tiring Ricky in the middle rounds and possibly cutting him badly. And Juan can sit and trade body shots with Rick as well. I just think he is more versatile than Ricky. JMHO; though I may be way off base.

I don't see Hatton tiring to someone who's not that physically imposing but I could envisage some healthy rounds for the baby bull, however I think down the stretch Hattons strength would pay dividends. In 3 years though I could picture a different story.

I think Hatton would KO Juan because the man is there for him to hit and Hatton's work to body i see Juan down in the 11 to tell you the truth

Default juan Diaz v Ricky Hatton

Can anyone else see this fight happening? Well if Hatton beats Paulie that is, look at possible opponents for Ricky, i cant really get excited about any current match up in the 140 division and im sure HBO feel the same.

Obviously there is the winner of the Pacman v ODH fight, but i have a feeling Mayweather will fight the victor in that one.

So Hattons options winner of Pacman/ODH (possibly)

    Or??

I say Diaz Hatton would be a great fight and at this stage if Diaz is strong at 140 to be to much for Hatton at this stage, i feel Hatton will struggle to go 12 strong with a a fighter like Diaz who has imput and goes 12 rounds all day long. Id lean towards a close decision for Diaz. I would defintly love to see this fight.

It'll probably be the worst bludgeoning Hatton has had in his life. Diaz won't have a problem going up to 140 considering on fight night he was weighing 146lbs. Diaz throws too many punches in combination and doesn't break a sweat when an opponent puts the pressure on. Remember how bad he made Julio Diaz look? Imagine what he would do with Hatton's defense.
    Oops

Would be a bruising encounter if they met and i agree with Skel that the winner of Oscar and Pacman and the lure of the $$ will be enough to draw Floyd out of retirement
Can't see Hatton staying the pace with Diaz at all and think he might even get stopped!
Be a top match up though!

That would be a great match-up.

I'd back Hatton to overpower and bash Diaz up at the moment (need to see how well he beats Powderpuff though, could change my mind).

If Ricky Hatton uses his old boxing skills he could win a decision if not he gets outskilled on the inside and loses UD.

I would like to see Hatton/Judah, all but one of Judah's losses were are 147. I think style wise it would make for a very entertaining fight and one that is winnable by both parties.

As a back up to that I would like to see Hatton/PAC there is enough
money there and it doesn't matter if PAC wins or loses against ODLH
the fight will still have legitimacy.

As a third option I would slide Diaz into the mix, if Hatton has slid skill wise at all from his last fight I would pick Diaz to actually outhustle Hatton.

Behind that Witter or Bradley, cause why not?

Diaz late stoppage win or at the least a UD. Like ICB said, Hatton could do well if he boxed, but I think he'll just revert to bad habits and get abused by Diaz's jab; and his right hand which he uses like a jab very often. Plus Diaz's output is too much for Ricky at this stage. I don't think Ricky will beat Paulie anyways; but let Diaz fight the winner.
