IMO, both tough stalkers with underrated skills.
Nah disagree Antonio Margarito hasn't really got skills and just keeps coming and takes two to land one..........

Where as Marvin Hagler was a very skilled fighter in his early days he showed good movement solid jab and solid counter abilities he did change his style into more of a stalker later in his career but he was still clever while pursuing especially at changing to right handed.
Come on ICB,To say Margarito is without skills......period......is pretty short sided Imo chief On the same note......he is no Hagler either.
I said he hasn't really got skills i didn't say he has no skills he is very good at what he does and thats coming forward with nonstop punching barrage breaking down his opponents but he isn't very skilled and thats a fact i am a fan of Antonio Margarito but you can't really argue with that he does nothing very skillfully and is quite sloppy at times but he is still hard to beat just like Bennie Briscoe was.

Sorry bud but it really translates the same Imo.Just a little broad brush, thats all iz saying.I'd say he's pretty skilled at breaking opponents down for the most part and imposing himself .He does not one thing spectacularly but is far from a simplistic caveman eating punches, left upper-hook is tops, his mentality and self confidence combine to be some of the hardest in the game today,Briscoe would be proud

Early Hopkins looks like a combination of Frazier/Early Witherspoon, good Frazier weave coming in,but then relentless Witherspoon inside pressure. Even through the Echols and even the Trinidad fight he does a quick Frazier weave to get in,and once he's there, relentless pressure
Since he moved up in weight, not so much.
Valuev oddly reminds me of Liston, the step out, deep breath and come again style
Holyfield used to make me think of a very dirty Patterson, the way he like to snipe and move

Thats a good one actually, they had that same ability to pressure, and neither were afraid to take shots coming

Junior Witter is more Johnny Nelson switch hitter Herol was mainly a southpaw but same Brendle Ingle camp and style, Ryan Rhodes and Naz.

By the same token Azumah Nelson = Ike Quartey = Alfred Kotey = Clottey.

I hate to sound like a jerk, but I disagree with SO many comparisons in this thread its unbelievable... particularily the one about Joe Frazier and Bernard Hopkins. I think the only similarities between those two is that they're both black, they're both from Philly and they both box(ed) for a living

Ok I'll contribute, and of course people will probably disagree with me, but...

Yuriorkis Gamboa-Mike Tyson... just the way he quickly cuts off angles and closes the distance on opponents. He even does the Tyson "peek a boo" bobbing (see his last fight against that Al Seeger fella), and of course he has great handspeed and heavy hands.

yeah i agree fightfan, pavlik is very similar to louis in certain ways, forcing guys to go on the back foot and looking for opportunies to throw bombs.
