Not sure about this site but practically every person i have spoken to about him (who live near me) don't like him because he is Asian. That is always the first reason they don't like him. Then they tend to add on the fact that he is arrogant and he's fought bums.

Obviously that's not a great advert for Leeds as a town but that's just the way it is around here. I started a thread about it around 18 months ago and got shot down as the above was apparently a ridiculous reason and therefore couldn't possibly be true. I agree it is a ridiculous reason and believe me, it is true! It's shit and i can't stand that way of thinking....but as i say, i can only speak of where i live and i have spoken to a lot of people about Khan and have pretty much got the same response.

I don't understand all the hate directed at him either. He hasn't said or done anything that hundreds of other prospects haven't said before him. I understand disliking Warren, and I think a lot of the anger is due to that, but I also wonder if a lot of it is due to racial/religious reasons (though no one would admit it). Is it also possible that he reminds people of Hamed somehow?

All this gloating etc. that has happened since he got KO'd has actually caused me to start cheering for Khan, even though I've seen 1 1/2 of his fights and know next to nothing about him. I'm hoping he can bounce back and win a title, proving all his detractors wrong.

I don't really understand all the anger about the PPV either. If you don't agree with it, then don't buy it and vote with your wallet, it's pretty fucking simple. There are ways to watch those fights without paying for them anyways.

Problem is PPV's are killing the sport, lets face it,that should have been an ESPN/Friday Night Fights sort of fight Khan hadnt done enough to justify a PPV
Having seen the era when boxing was one of the top sports in this country, well ahead of Basketball for popularity two things have killed the sport,PPV,and Casino fights.
Its penny wise, and pound foolish,to get fans for the sport, casual fans have to be able to see the fighters. It used to be even if you didnt have alot of money you could pony up a little money for a nose bleed seat at the Spectrum,or watch it at home.
Good luck affording a ticket at the Borgata,or affording the PPV,Boxing is really a poor mans sport, that poor men cant watch anymore

I don't disagree about the PPV's or ticket prices, but that isn't an issue confined to Khan's situation. Plenty of fights that shouldn't be on PPV are, for higher prices than what Warren was charging to see the Khan match. If there's a market for it, promoters are going to make as much money as they can.

I've never seen people so pissed off about a PPV (which anyone with an internet connection could've watched for free), their anger had more to do with who was fighting and promoting the card than the fact that they had to pay if they wanted to see it.

Oh trust me having Warren for his promoter is part of it,but lets face it people were bent when that recent Holyfield fight was PPV too

The PPV was £14.99 the same price as Hatton-Floyd, Tyson-Lewis etc.. All PPV's are bollocks. Ones between a prospect and a guy not even HARDCORE boxing fans knew was beyond taking the piss.

Not everyone is happy to sit in front of a computer watching a pony stream.. especially when you pay a monthly subscription to watch SPORT (which is meant to include boxing) on TV.

I know what you mean that ppv isn't confined to Khan, but he's the first guys i've known to be on ppv when not even close to world level.

It was such a dissapointment, Khan's fights were becoming a huge draw in the pubs in britain ons Saturday nights, coupled with the success of Calaghe/Hatton the sport was on the up. Granted it's not all his fault, ITV blew its budget on the crazy national obsession with football.

But even with a smaller budget I don't see how khan's team think they are worth so much money per appearance as they're asking for. This is an issue I have with many fighters, milking as uch money as possible from meaningless fights, which is why i've also gone off ODLH and Hatton big time, from being fans of them. Guys like Vasquez and Marguez don't do it, and I don't see why the others get away with it.

I really don't know Amir Khan I've only seen 1 fight of his besides his olympic fight's. I have no problem with him. I don't think Khan has a glass jaw either. The punch he got hit with would have knocked down anyone in the lightweight division.

Amir Khan hasn't got a glass chin are you kidding me ? he was on queer street from Willie Limond who only had 25 percent KO record and those KO's came against fighters with mostly losing records and the punch that got him in trouble against Breidis Prescott was more of a grazing shot not solid at all and his legs went wobbly from only stiff jab if Amir Khan hasn't got a glass chin then i would love to know your definition of a glass chin.
