Zab needs to earn it first, otherwise Hatton would get no credit. No way Hatton takes this fight with such a risk-reward factor. I feel stylistically it would match up well and be entertaining.
You dead right on that. He doesn't deserve to go straight into a Hatton fight, but as a former undisputed WW champ and 140 beltholder, he has the right to drop down and immediately fight a contender/soup belt holder to re-establish his position in the division. It's not like he's lost to bums. He lost to a much bigger Josh Clottey, a much better Miguel Cotto, and an all-time great in PBF. LWW is a thin division and one fight against Bradley, Holt, or Kotelnik wouldn't be out of line. Does he need to go out and beat Juan Urango or Randall Bailey to set himself up for shot at Tim Bradley? I think Jab vs Holt/Bradley/Kotelnik would be a fine BAD card, and if he wins, he'll be in a position for decent fight. If he loses, we'll know he's pretty much done.
