Calzaghe: If i win and Pavlik win i may be tempted.

Joe Calzaghe is slowing down and his punches are becoming less and less effective, although it would be amazing to see Calzaghe vs Pavlik/Dawson or Tarver it would also be a silly and greedy move. I just can't see Calzaghe staying undefeated against Dawson or Pavlik, Chad Dawson is like the modern day version of Herol Graham and Kelly Pavlik is like the modern day version of Carlos Monzon.

He didn't look good against Hopkins but who does? When Calzaghe beats Pavlik I'm sure that we'll hear that Pavlik is actually a one-dimensional limited fighter.

I think Kelly Pavlik is much more dangerous than Jeff Lacy was. I had seen a few of Jeff Lacy's fights before the Joe Calzaghe fight, and he looked like an average fighter against Omar Sheika, Syd Vanderpool, and he had never faced an elite fighter like Kelly Pavlik has. If Joe Calzaghe beat Kelly Pavlik i would give him all the credit in the world.

So true Fenster, people before the Kessler fight was made and Calzaghe was making noises about fighting the likes of Hopkins RJJ and Tarver people were slating him saying he is ducking Kessler he needs to fight him before anyone else, theres always going to be the new guy like you say. If he wins and beats Pavlik whats the odds this time next year it will be Calzaghe should be fighting Dawson blah blah blah.

Well to be honest i give him credit for the Mikkel Kessler win because Mikkel Kessler was a proven good fighter. But i don't really give him credit for the Jeff Lacy win because i never really thought much of Jeff Lacy, but if i was in Joe Calzaghe's shoes i would retire after the RJJ fight.

Screw being undefeated. It's means nothing if you fought inferior opponents most of your career. Even if you get 1 or 2 losses by facing the best, it still means more than that big fat goose egg. Fight 3 or 4 more then retire.

Pavlik is young and rated by many and has height, range and power that could potentially cause Calzaghe some problems. If Calzaghe can see him off then it caps his career off perfectly.

I agree that Pavlik is better than Lacy and he's a better boxer than he's given credit for but I still think Joe will beat him. Then we'll hear how he wasn't really that good after all and Calzaghe still hasn't fought anybody really good etc. etc.
