Smash what are you somking man dude you just say best fighter ever.
Im a big fan of Calzaghe.Yeah he might slap most of the time, but his hand speed, his chin, his work rate and his boxing stills are second to none. Not to mention his great right hand jab.He might not have the power anymore to K.O a boxer out but his tactics to change and adapt to win a fight is fantasic.Calzaghe has one of the best boxing brains as a fighter in the ring EVER!
Shame on you british fans not liking Calzaghe
One thing i'll mention to the lovers and haters of Joe,is that if,"I hope",he fights Pavlik and loses he'll even generate more fans by going out with a BANG!
Luv u Joe!![]()

It baffles me why some people right off Calzaghe against Pavlik. Calzaghe has proven time and time again that he simply wont be beat, can adapt during a fight, his punch power is practically zero but all the other tools are there.
Its the same old story....
X will do this to Calzaghe, Calzaghe cant do this, Calzaghe slaps ect ect. Each time Calzaghe flips the script.
Im not and never have been sold on Pavlik. He sparked Miranda, but then again old man Eastman almost sparked him a few round sooner, if he didnt have so many miles on the clock he would have. He beat reluctant fighter Jermaine Taylor twice, almost getting himself sparked out in the process.
Pavlik Calzaghe a 50/50 fight. A few years ago Calzaghe would have wiped the floor with him as he did Lacy........he still might.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

I used to really like Pavlik but his lovers have turned me against him.
Come on Hopkins!!! I would love that boring old bastard to spark him clean out.![]()
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
I'm going the same way.
The whole Pavlik power thing is a bit much. Yes he hits hard but he's no julian Jackson. He gets the majority of his KO's through pressure, remarkably similar to Joe earlier on in his career. IMO Eubank has at least the same single punch power than Pavlik (probably more), his KO ratio is lower since he simply isn't a 100 punches a round pressure fighter.
Same goes for Mitchell, Brewer, Lacy, Kessler, Hopkins.
The only reason a Calzaghe-Pavlik fight may be competitive nowadays is joe's advancing years, and he HAS been slowing down recently. Simple reason is that come forward fighters are his bread and butter.
is a good thread hahaha and i folded the little prick in half without so much as the use of his fave weapon... the "" smilie
All too easy Memph.......
I think he likes Violent gang "members" up his ass too (i mean theres enough of them from Saddos crawling about up there already) hense his "internet" gang (he must have got into that kinda practice in prison)![]()

I asked you a simple question , do you think Calzaghe smothers his own work and slaps or not ?
Also I'm English and Calzaghe is from Wales , and the UK is not a country , not that that is relevant to hating someone or not, finest sportsman ever ?? thats a matter of opinion lol
I HATE CALZAGHE GET OVER IT.

The biggest difference between Pavlik and Lacy, in regards to their punch (Pavlik is faster and steps sideways, and better defensively) is that Pavlik throws straight punches.. Lacy throws clubbing right hands that someone on Joe's level could see coming for a mile.. I'm not saying Pavlik is the quickest puncher, but when you watch his fights, notably from the recent fights, notice the first right hand that he drops on his opponent.. I remember rooting for Taylor, and as soon as he got hit with a right hand, he wasn't "stunned" as in physically stunned, but he was stunned mentally, he wasn't expecting it.. When you watch Lockett sit there and get hit with Kelly's right hand, he had the same response..
To be honest, I think that Pavlik mostly resembles Kessler, in regards of style.. and look what Calzaghe did to him.. Kessler had a few rally's but nothing more.. The HUGE difference between pavlik and kessler, is that Pavlik will be absolutely relentless the whole fight, while Kessler was a bit conservative early on, then he got frustrated and almost gave up towards the end it seemed..
Pavlik's chin is not even a factor in this fight so i don't know why anyone is talking about it.. If you think Joe could KO Pavlik then you've had a FEW too many.. The main factors will be CAN Pavlik connect with the right, and if so, HOW often..
The thing I see being the biggest factor is Calzaghe being able to close the gap where he likes to flurry with his quick shots.
I saw that he was able to do this quite well against the crafty Hopkins but hopkins was not throwing enough to keep him off. I think Kelly will be a ble to keep Joe at range and throw a straight right down the barrel when Joe tries to lunge in.
Pavlik can also fight well inside but I think that Kellys ability to keep Joe at range will dictate how this fight goes and I think once that triphammer drops a few times Joe will be somewhat leary which will play into Kelly's hands.
If this fight is fought at range it will be a win for kelly and probably a KO in between 10 and 12.

Kessler's success was on the backfoot in the earlier rounds, Calzaghe avoided all the 'straight' punches he threw while Kess was trying to come forward, which is why he got discouraged. When joe cut out the mistake of leaning in too much Kessler had very little succes until joe started trading in the final round.
