I also heard Willard had 4 broken ribs,a broken jaw. Just thought I'd add.

I remember noticing the odd way Dempsey throws some of his punches in the Willard fight, at some points he holds his arm out and swings it like a club, if I remember correctly its one of the times Willard is half way up (or half way down).

We'll never know, but I hope there wasn't anything shifty involved as he Dempsey wouldn't have needed it.

Yeah it was when Willards knees just inched off the matt in the third KD... It was just thrown at a weird angle to get under his chin... Did look strange and clublike though

It used to happen all the time back then, all you had to do was slip some lead powder in to the glove, and bang instant black jack.
Theres a reason the promoter picks the gloves, and theyre checked before the fighter gets them

I'm surprised from the footage I've seen anyone could ever win after getting knocked down for the 1st time. How you can get up and win the fight is beyond me

Old school of boxing cost him against Tunney when he did not go to a neutral corner. No wonder Tyson loved him, he was a vicious hobo.

They were brutal back then , oh your getting up? Oh no you arent , bam. I alway wince when I see the guys get up early who should have taken a few more seconds...lol they are usually back on the ground shortly after getting up. I saw one fight where a guy was knocked out , but saved by the bell, and the corner dragged his ass to the corner to try and revive him...crazy fuckers back then.

I've seen it too; someone posted it no too long ago because I remember chuckling about it. Wasn't it one of SRR's victims

I also like the Zale-Graziano ribber match. Damn ref practically picks Rocky up after the first knockdown, then counts the full ten second time round even though it was obvious the guy was unconscious. Happy days.

Maybe that was it. I think it was 2 white guys fighting but mostly remember the ref dragging someone like a side of beef to the corner I mean, it's not really funny, but kind of, like a 3 Stooges episode
