Not sure what your saying mate ? i know you guys are trying to point out flaws in my theory which is fine, but i don't think Kelly Pavlik has a bad chin like your saying mate, im not saying he has a granite chin but he has a good enough chin along with great recovery powers.

By the way Smashup did you get my PM ?

No one said he had a bad chin? It just isnt an uncrackable object is it? He was on queer street against Taylor but your trying to brush it under the carpet with these temple/equalibrium lines.

The same rules funnily enough dont apply to other boxers.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Im not trying to brush it under the carpet and i never said Kelly Pavlik, has a solid chin nor am i saying the equilibrium thing only applies to him. If you read my posts in other threads i have always said Kelly Pavlik hasn't got a solid chin..........

But im just explaining why he got stunned, and even Kelly Pavlik said the equilibrium shot made his legs go to jelly, like i said i understand your trying to point out the flaws in my arguement........

But you can't use Amir Khan as an example because he has proven time again he has a weak chin, and like i said the punch that got him in trouble was a grazing shot which is different.

Tysons initial punch on Berbick was grazing, he fell over three times from that?

I like everyone else in the world think Amirs chin is 100% bone china, I wasn't seriously offering an excuse for his KO mate

That was a strange one aswell Memphis had no idea what happened there either, i've always liked to think that it was more accumulation of punishment, it didn't seem real it was like ghosts kept knocking him down

    lol.

Quality. Just hope he is good enough because where he has been at and where he needs to be with the likes of Kessler or Bute are worlds apart. Sort of the difference between Michael Gomez and Bredis Presscot if you know what i mean.

Pascal is a good B level test. He has needed this kind of test for a long time.
At this point, Pascal is a C-level fighter at best. He's an undefeated prospect who has fought nobody of note.

Froch's defense is way too crappy to deal with a guy like Pavlik. If they fought ten times maybe Froch could get to him a couple times but Pavlik is just a better fighter.

I just don't get it with Froch, he can punch but the defense is just horrible, I haven't seen anything to change my mind about that ever. What a bloodbath that would have been if he had fought Calzaghe, he wouldn't have been able to miss.

well nobody has made a dent on him yet so how is his defence so poor ? hes never been down or hurt in anyway, so hes not done too bad so far. Its his style which makes him difficult to hit, he really uses his range to full effect and its worked so far.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by a dent but I've seen him look not very hard to hit at all against guys that were not even near elite. And that's kind of the point with all of this about him, with all the talk about his chin, his power, etc, its never really been tested has it?

Not saying that's his fault, I haven't kept up enough, I couldn't go into whether he ducked Calzaghe, or Inkin ducked him.

I have never thought he was very good, and I haven't seen anything to change my mind about that so I will keep thinking that, but your loyalty is admirable and I no longer think you are Carl Froch

He most likely beats Paschal. There was a time when I thought Paschal looked like an interesting prospect Not anymore.

haha naah im not carl, just a good fan! but i agree that hes not been pushed to his maximum potential, but now is the time were that is going to change. Pascal is the start of great things to come for Froch and I have full faith in him! Bring on Dec 6th

I tend to like humble fighers and dislike brash, hyper-confident fighters. Froch falls into the latter group; Pavlik falls into the first.

That said, what has Froch shown that leads you to believe he would beat Pavlik? I agree Froch has style, which explains your affinity, but he has never faced a top twenty or even thirty fighter. Pavlik beat Taylor twice. The same Taylor that fought and beat or fought to a draw with future HOF's: Bernard Hopkins and Winkie Wright. Pavlik also served Edison Miranda with his very first knockout. This is the Edison Miranda who lost a very close decision to Arthur Abraham and knocked out another top ten fighter in Allen Green.

Additionally, At 6'2 1/2, Pavlik is bigger than Froch who stands 6'1.

Pavlik arguably punches harder than Froch. Of course, punching power is difficult to guage.

After his next fight, we will be better able to guage Froch's boxing prowess because Pascal is ranked in the top twenty by most rating agencies.

It's hard to say how brash and arrogant Froch is. The comments I read in the media does make him appear that way, but I'm guessing a lot of it is playing the game to garner interest, when i see him actually speak in interviews (like on setanta today) comes across much better.

As for comparisons with Pavlik, well like you said Pavlik has proven much more at this point in time. IMO it would be exciting, but I'm not yet sold on Froch so I'd pick Pavlik
as a comfortable favourite. It'd be interesting to see them side by side to compare their sizes, Pavlik has had a size advantage against most guys, but Hopkins seems to be his physical match and perhaps Froch could be bigger still.

I'm not totally sold on Pavlik either, I think Hopkins has a solid chance to upset Pavlik. On the other hand, if Pavlik Knocks out Hopkins, he may be the real deal - because no one has knocked out Bernard.
