I haven't been a hardcore boxing fan for a great length of time so I gotta admit, ive only known about Hopkins since his 3rd (i think) fight with Robert Alen... The fight before Dela Hoya. So my opinion of him has always been predominantly based on his performances and choices of opponents from say 2004 onwards.

All id seen was a fairly negative, pot-shot - counter puncher with a mean streak.

But having taken some time to study the man (mainly on Youtube!) i have to admit, Nard, stylistically, was complete in every sense of the word. The best thing about it is, the only thing that has maybe reduced his menace, as a fighter is his fitness levels. He's still as fast and as strong as he was as a 30 year old which for my only highlights the fact that his style was non dependant on Athletic attributes. He just had a great fighting mind.

I asked before if his style was taught like say Mayweathers Shoulder roll or Manny Stewards fighters all fighting the same. Reason being, Hopkins has a style that really could work for anyone. For me, its perfect, its how i would want any fighter to fight, any fighter could learn from a guy like that.

What im trying to say... Is that his Ring Generalship is top notch
