I think this shows once and for all that it WAS a very close fight and open to interperatation.

I think it was a 50/50 fight going into the final round, but fair play to Mosely, he took it out of the judges hands.

HBO's commentary was fucking dreadful though, talk about home fighter bias
This guy hasn't got a clue about boxing end of, Ricardo Mayorga missed most of his punches. And Mosley countered Mayorga all night long after the 4th round.

I really just can't see how anybody had Mayorga winning, throwing alot of punches while missing majority of them doesn't win you fights. Nor does ineffective pressure.

And even when Mayorga landed they wern't effective punches, because he wasn't throwing them with good technique.

Mosley landed effective/cleaner punches, and he landed a whole lot more punches overall and with better accuracy than Mayorga did. I had it 7-4 for Mosley, i thought it was close in the middle rounds then Mosley pulled away in the later rounds.

From all the talk about this fight, I agree with ICE completely. I just don't see anyone having Mayorga ahead either.

Havent seen much of Bunce really, I thought he had a pretty good take on some things and seemed to have sense but he gets incredibly irritating FAST, at least to me. Then last week he told Carl Froch that he thought Pascal was a tougher opponent than Jermain Taylor or Lacy, and now he had Mayorga winning 9 rounds().. It was absolutely a close fight that had swing rounds depending on what you liked, but there's no way in hell Mosley only won 2 of 11 rounds, that is just way off.

How people interpet various rounds can be all over the board, i didn't see it that way but i guess i kinda understand those who do, I think a lot of people are looking at how unimpressive shane was before the ko more than how mayorga was actually winning rounds, his wild style is hard to judge at times and can make opponets look bad, i'm actually glad there was a ko or we would never have a clear winner.

I thought that was the case listening to the Brit commentators scoring.

How far ahead did the HBO guys have Mosley?

Several rounds. Lampley said it was a travesty that one judge had Mayorga up by a point and one had Mosely up by only a point and Merchant agreed with him.

Personally I thought it was a VERY close fight that depending on who won the 12th round could have gone either way. Had Mayorga got a big 12th round I wouldn't have had a problem if the judges had gone for him, although a close win for Shane would have been cool with me too.

But nobody can convince me that Shane was comfortably ahead in this fight, he pulled it out of the fire imo, great win and Mayorga fought out of his skin.

I don't think it was a bad performance from Shane I just think he struggled against a much bigger, and very focused and dangerous Mayorga.

A TRAVESTY the judges had it close? Blimey, no wonder people cry robbery after every fight

It was close going into the 12th. That's proven by the split between the bulk of fans.
