I had the opportunity to get a bout tomorrow but there is a huge storm here and it didn't seem worth it to drive over a huge mountain pass through the snow and ice to fight someone I've already beat twice. So hopefully next weekend I'll get a bout. I'm itching to get back in there and end my losing streak.
I'm running a 5k in the morning. I have no idea why. It's crazy cold here. Windy, snowing and the temp is going to be about 15°!Oh, and I'm getting a cold. Probably not the best idea to go out and run but I have a problem with not doing things I say I'm going to do. Besides, maybe no one will show and I can win.

Haha, that would probably help.
Just got back from a light conditioning night at the gym. 1 hour, alternating between the bike, shadowboxing and abs. I may have a bout this coming Saturday and I haven't really been watching what I eat so I need to lose a few pounds. I'm about 23 pounds over what I normally walk around at, so nothing too drastic, I'll just have to do a little extra these next couple of days.
I did mean 2-3. Haha, woops. Yeah, I'm not sure I could put on 23 pounds no matter how hard I tried.
I think I'm losing motivation. I have a fight next weekend. I'm not too excited about it. It's against a gal who I lost to this summer. I've thought about it for three months now and I can't come up with a strategy to beat her. It's a 6-hour drive from here and there will be an official there who was border-line stalking me last year. So it's not something I'm really looking forward to. To top it off my coach is all jacked and saying I can beat her and need to even the score and all this crap....even though he hasn't given me any idea's on what to do different to win this time. I sort of feel like I'm only doing it because everyone else thinks I should.
Just wondering sourpuss, as I follow your log as well as others. I've noticed that sometimes you tend to get a negative mindset going into fights. I know you haven't had the best of luck in draws and so on, but also that you seem to focus on the negatives. Not sure if you do this on purpose to address the thoughts maybe that are floating around in your head...and that it is productive that way, or if you set yourself up for a negative result by doing so.
One fight I went into feeling negative, because i had hurt my lower back before and was upset at my coach for it...then I got there, and the guy was much taller then me...well, I found that it was my worst performance. I fought really tentative and didn't commit to punches and so on. Overall my reasoning for the negatives was real, as in...I really was hurt, but I think my mental prep. affected me even more.
So just wondering how it works for you.
Yeah, I see what you are saying...and you're not the first to say it to me either. I get down before I fight and I let things get to me. I can only remember one time when I went in 100% confident and ready and it really blew up in my face.![]()
This time though I think I'm just being realistic. I don't know, I've probably cried wolf too many times. Haha. I feel like I'm just going along to please everyone else and I'm just going to lose and be embarrassed.![]()
stay with it...
"...went 12 rounds with Ali, and never took a backwards step."
Ok, so I've watched the videos and came up with a game plan so I feel a little better about it. My coach and I will work all week on it so we'll see....
My opponent got the flu.![]()
More time to prepare, right? (looking on the bright side)
I'm hoping that someone will turn up but the chances are slim to none.
