That is true, but if he was training consistently all year he would not put on as much weight. He would still put on some weight because of the different intesity, I just dont think he would pack on that much if he trained all year. I have often heard that Hopkins trained year round and never varied to far from his fighting weight.
Thats because Bernard got into the habbit on the inside and he's sensible... he doesn't dry up an awful lot for a fight... probably why he's still one of the pest P4P fights in the world at 41 and still in such good shape... drying up like most other fighters do takes years off your life
