First of all the Calzaghe's win is heavily debatable, it was a split decision, JOe didn't look very good at all(which is understandable) and Hopkins landed many more clean punches.
ALl that being said of course Calzaghe is the real fucking deal, nobody can deny that, to do so is retarded. But he isn't the same caliber of fighter that a prime Hopkins or a prime Roy Jones would be. He's a step below that. He is too flawed, but his gets away with it because he is quick and he is always in amazing shape, but Hopkins showed the flaws that Calzaghe would have against him or Roy JOnes Jr, but he was didn't have the output he once had to take advantage of those flaws, but he did early and made Calzaghe look stupid at times. BOth Calzaghe and Roy Jones Jr are unconventional, but Roy didn't leave himself open the same way Calzaghe does, he wasn't as aggressive, and that is why he got hit less, not to mention his vastly superior athletic ability. Calzaghe has good handspeed, but not good enough to bother Roy at all if he fought Roy before Jones went up to heavyweight.
You however are stating that Joe is the best fighter of the last decade when he clearly isn't. Floyd is a better then Calzaghe, Pacquaio has been more impressive, I think WInky Wright has been a better fighter as well, not to mention the obvious Bernard Hopkins. Calzaghe's fight against Bernard in retrospect whether he actually won or lost that fight was absolutely impressive, but Winky Wright who moved up way more fought an equally close fight with Bernard that could have gone either way, Taylor in their second fight IMO beat Hopkins the most clearly since Roy Jones Jr did. Which brings me back to another point, Roy beat a far younger, more hungry Hopkins with a broken hand much more one sidedly then Calzaghe did a 43 year old man. People will argue Hopkins was still green, but so to was ROy JOnes Jr(even moreso), and if you look back at the great fighters, they were all very good fighters by the time they were at the same stage Hopkins was in his career, and he was already a very, very good fighter, beat everybody but Mercado in one fight from that point on emphatically.
WHile Calzaghe's fight against Bernard and Kessler give him a ton of credit, he deserves almost none for fight Roy Jones Jr, who since his loss to Glen Johnson in 2004 has been considered Over. Calzaghe is just padding his wallet and his ego with this fight in which Roy doesn't really have that much of a chance on paper.
All in all Calzaghe's fights against Roy and Bernard will be void in terms of ATG because they are way past their prime, and Bernard still gave Calzaghe win or lose all he could handle.
