Saying Calzaghe's win over Joe and Nard will automatically make him greater at this stage of the game is like saying Hearns beatdown of Leonard and eventual robbery put his place in history above that of Leonard and Hagler. Not quite, but the point is Joe's victory over Jones will mean nothing really, nothing. Jones was a magical fighter in his prime, he's not anymore at least it doesn't appear. Beating him right now means nothiing in terms of legacy because even when you go back and when people are boxrexing what a win over Jones means in 15 years they'll be turned off by the Tarver and Johnson losses long before they get to analyzing this one. That's true too.
Also, B Hop made Calzaghe a lot worse then Calzaghe made B Hop look. The general consensus at least as I remember was that Hopkins would have won had he not been an old man. I still think Hopkins won that too. Whatever, Hopkins victory over Pavlik was awesome, he looked better then he had in years. In round 1 of the Calzaghe fight I got really excited to see Hopkins take Calzaghe to school but eventually Calzaghe's will won him some rounds. Pavlik was just young and his will broken and he didn't have those 40+ fights Calzaghe had to fall back on and got taken to school all throughout. I would hope Calzaghe did better then Pavlik did...
Hopkins still the better fighter. I wish Winky and Calzaghe would go.
