Think you should cut back on the lifting it's taking a toll on your opinions....
I was with you all the way through I thought you were making valid points and shppk my head in agreement up until you spit this one up. From there on I just stopped reading your post. Maybe the excitement got the best of you or maybe you just ran out of things to type.

But there is NO WAY IN HELL that Calzaghe is the best fighter of the last decade. Maybe you meant the greatest British fighter of the last decade?

Decade is 10 yrs. right... So were in 2008 which means since 1998 and on.
Gonna throw some names out there let me know what you think.

    Lennox Lewis
    James Toney
    Ricardo Lopez
    Winky Wright
    Kostya Tszyu
    PBF
    MAB
    Morales
    Pacquiao
    JMM
    Evander
    SSM

Also, so you know MAB beat Morales twice. I personally still think Morales is the better fighter and rank Morales higher. Because Calzaghe beat Hopkins it doesn't mean he's ranked higher. SRL beat Duran twice yet Durans rated higher on a general sensus. Just thought I'd throw that out there for you.
Also you realize that Calzaghe did not come on to the scene until 2006 so that's about 8 yrs. he's giving up if we're going by a decade. Maybe you should say he's the greatest of the last 5 yrs? I think he'd def. have a shot at that one but even then I think Pacquiao would take that one. So maybe Calzaghes the best of the last 3 yrs...

it just sounds like to me that you are just happy pavlik lost. and that you want joe to be number 1 soooooooooooooooooooooooo bad well guess wat its not gonna ever happen. he never had no great moments like Bhop beating tito trinidad who was fighter of the year in 2000, and being the first guy to ko de la hoya and skipping a division to challenge the number 1 LHW in the world at the time. or even Roy Jones who started his career at JMW and went all the way to HW to win a strap which has been done in like a 106 years i think. so joes legacy will NEVER BE BETTER THAN Bernard Hopkins or Roy Jones Jr.

Look Calzaghe should have been fighting Pavlik but he opted to fight Jones Hopkins fought the dangerous Pavlik many thought he was going to get KO'd but no Hopkins schools him but now Calzaghe is getting praise how?? It was Hopkins that took the risk in fighting Pavlik Calzaghe played it safe vs Jones Calzaghe only just beat Hopkins if Calzaghe had fought Pavlik and schooled him then fair enough bring on the praise but it wasn't it was Hopkins.

How does Hopkins winning have anything to do with Calzhage? I'm a Calzhage fan but can understand why he is hated; it's because of his fans. Why take one of Hopkins biggest wins and turn it into something about Calzhage? pathetic in my opinion.

Not pathetic in my opinion, nobody is taking anything away from Hopkins and rightly so. It's just the so called Calzaghe 'haters' would use Hopkins' age and failing fitness as an excuse for his loss to Joe.

Hopkins' win over Pavlik just puts everything into perspective.

Personally I think its laughabe that people say that it proves how good Joe is.

How can you compare Joe's style with Pavlik's?

Hopkins will always tear apart that kind of style.

And Calzaghe didn't look good against Hopkins either, it is debated.

All it showed was that calzaghe isn't complete crap and can fight but he barely skid by against Hopkins(who dropped him with the first right hand he threw too)

If he beats Jones it doesn't put him past either of them.

I don't see what you mean that just because Hopkins beat Pavlik means that Joe is great?? Only if you thought Pavlik would have beat Joe, which in itself is a stretch.

So I don't see what perspective it puts things in that Hopkins tore up a style like pavliks. A style that isn't half as active as Joes and goes in looking for one shot, compared to Joe who likes to get inside and throw lots of punches.

    The difference is

    against Pavlik

Hopkins was active when he wanted to be, because of the style Pavlik gave him

    Against Joe

Hopkins was active because he had to be because Joe came in and pressed and threw combos.

Joe made Hopkins move a lot more throw a lot more when he didn't want to and push the fight more then Pavlik did.

Which is why you can't compare the styles of Pavlik and Joe enough to say "Hopkins beat Pavlik makes Calzaghe all time greatest of the generation"

    Thats just silly.

Its shows just how good Calzaghe is

The Joe haters would have you belive that Hopkins was washed up and that Joe would run into retirement instead of facing Pavlik. Now Hopkins tottally thrashed the Young American champion people know he is still a top p4p fighter and not washed up .
