I'm going with Pavlik by late TKO, but it wouldn't surprise me if it goes the distance with Pavlik winning by decision.

I think Hopkins age is going to show in this fight.

BTW, in case you guys didn't know, they just removed the original ref for the fight, Earl Morton. Pavlik's manager Cameron Dunkin lobbied the state athletic board to have him removed, because he is friends with Hopkins. He told the board that Pavlik would not step into the ring if Morton was the ref.

They haven't named a replacement yet. I hope it's Smoger.

Smogs or Bayless... Either would be fine.

I voted for Hopkins by decision, but I'll be honest, my heart isn't completely in the pick. Regardless of what Pavlik's camp is saying 170 is going bo be different and something Pavlik has to adjust to. Maybe Kelly will have problems dealing with the extra weight behind the punch where he doesn't at 160. Nonetheless, Hopkins is going to make it awkward and try to pull a rabbit out of a hat. I think it's possible he'll do it.
    Oops

Pavlik for me. I can't see Hopkins handling his constant pressure. Hopkins is a wiley character thou and it might be late on before it's decided. Might even go to points.

Well to add to the story about Team Pavlik requesting that Earl Morton be removed as the ref, because of his friendship with Hopkins. Well, you'll never guess how they found out about their friendship.

I love how this poll, like many other's before it has the favourite clearly winning the fight prediction stakes until the day AFTER the fight and then mysteriously the majority managed to back the underdog and get the right pick

Everyone who voted for Hopkins decision after the result, (and you know who you are) are only cheating yourselves

Either way i want an end to this Pavlik lunacy its worse than Cottos fans were 2-3yrs ago and over taken Pacquiaos nuts.

Its a shame as a lot of Pavliks fans are knowledgeable and objective.
Listen. Pavlik's following is deserved. His punches pack a wallop. His defense is porous. He is an action fighter. He brings the fight to his opponent. He has a KO rate of 90%. All this makes for fan friendly fights. Name the last Pavlik fight that didn't entertain you? I guess the one-sided beat-down of Enzo's boy wasn't much of a contest, but I think arguing it wasn't entertaining would be going too far. All this and the guy is only 26. He took on Jermain Taylor when he was 25.

Are his abilities overrated? Possibly. It is undisputed that he is a one dimensional fighter, but so far it has worked.

Bernard will be a big test for Kelly. If Kelly beats down Bernard, doing what Calzaghe couldn't do, then I think not only does Kelly deserve his following, but he isn't overrated as a fighter either. Granted, I don't think that will happen.

I agree Calzaghe should be favored if Kelly and Joe were to meet next year. I don't think Joe wants any part of Kelly because the risk/reward ratio. Kelly doesn't have the Hopkins RJJ name, and he is more likely to knock you out.

Im a Pavlik fan you cannot dislike the guy! its the nut jobs that think he is the second coming of Christ. Pavlik is a limited power punching brawler that will find against Hopkins that unless he adds a dimension he will not hang with a Calzaghe, Kessler, Bute.

Do not mistake me as a Pavlik hater, im a realist. Problem is Pavliks fans have what i call "power punch syndrome" in which he gains a good fowllowing and in that following are total tards that trash every fighter in and around his weight whilst proclaim their man as Jesus b2b God b2b Zelenoffs lack of heart.

I remember the same happened in the Uk with Nigel Benn, people get blinded by power and so-called "white collar"

Lets hope Pavlik can be 50% of what Benn was.

O snap been saying it for a year now. TOO ONE DIMENSIONAL TO REALLY HANG WITH ELITE.
