Finally managed to get hold of this for my pc today. Been so looking forward to this..........

And it's fucking shit

How the hell is this a triple A title? It's awful.

You're character runs like he's in the special Olympics, he always points a gun straight ahead wherever he is and every single person in the game practically shoots you on sight.

The cars are the worst I've ever seen in a game. Not only do they look like they were taken out of a game made 5 years ago but they drive like you're drving through treacle.

You have to push the forward key to keep them moving, the second you take your foot of the accelerator the car comes to a stop, so you feel like you are more pushing the car than driving it.

It doesn't feel like you are driving a vehicle just rather sliding around in some kind of cart stuck in sand.

The character models are at least 5 years old, there is no interaction with people or the enviroment, you don't even have an inventory.

The combat is mediocre and the game looks pants compared to Crysis.

I can't believe I got so excited about this

I've been playing for appox 40 mins and now I think I'm going to uninstall it and go back to Minesweeper that came with Windows.

I loved the original farcry. Never tried the second one though. Not sure if I want to!LOL

I might re-install the original again. I loved sniping out bad guys from a distance.

The first one was a classic but the real successor to that was Crysis, which was made by the Crytek team who made the original Far Cry. Crysis is an amazing game.

By contrast this is just pants.

They have tried to make it more immersive by giving you an actual map to find your way around rather than opening a seperate map screen like in other games but it ridiculous.

You character actually gets out this stupid map whenver you want to see where to go. Your still in game, there are no pauses but you can't see anything because your fucking map takes up the whole screen.

And if they did this to add immersion they completely fail because it's somehow a paper map with GPS features built in. It highlights where enemies are, where ammo crates and medkits are etc, it's just absurd.

Best of all I saved a female hostage and then she thanked me, said she had to be off and then got out her stupid oversized map to have a look at where she needed to go

My favourite bit though are the signposts. Instead of an arrow telling you where to go the tards who made this wanted to keep the immersion factor so instead added signposts.

So you can now be in the middle of a jungle and stumble across some signposts pointing to 'Mikes Bar' or 'Lumber Camp' which just happens to be where I need to get to.

If the idea that a fucking lumber camp or someone's bar would be signposted in the real world is not enough to make you laugh out you'll definitely get the giggles when you see a signpost to your fucking 'safe' house

How this game has got such high reviews is beyond me. It's a steaming cowpat of a game in my opinion.

Meanwhile a truly great game like Stalker Clear Skies gets terrible reviews even though it shits on this from a great height,
