u and my dad say the same thing about wal mart but why?
Walmart employs people at extremely low wages and has an incredible distribution network, that cannot be beat by any other retailer. This makes it so they can offer prices that are far below that which anyone else can offer. Goods that are manufactured in America have no chance against Chinese goods that are filtered through the Wal Mart system regardless of how lean and efficient they may become. This hurts the manufacturing sector and creates a trade deficit. At the retail level, it is impossible for people who want to start small business in a niche market or any market for that matter to enter the retail industry at a price point that can compete with Wal Mart. It hurts small business and manufacturing in the US. The only legal manufacturing sectors in America that can survive associated with the military which only furthers the military industrial complex, but that's another story for another day. I would like to qualify this by saying there are certainly other major retailers that these statements apply to, however WalMart is at the forefront of this phenomena
yea saw this documentary on tv one time about how they bring walmart into small towns and it basically stops all the family owned buisnesses from makin money so they are forced to close down, so i get wat ur saying. but i wouldnt say walmart make EXTREMELY low wages my aunt has worked there for only about 4 years and she has a pretty nice apartment in a great location she just bought a brand new crysler 300 and has 2 kids and gets them basically watever they want so i would think she makes a decent age for a person that justs works in the LAYWAY depatrment. but TBH i dont know alot about the wages at walmart but everything is cheaper in TEXAS and thats for sure.
