Floyd Mayweather Is Unbeatable
No one is unbeatable, although i'd agree that at the time he retired there was no one that would, all the more better that he left instead of waiting around for that person that finally could. He would figure out manny just like he does everyone else and then just get critisized again for fighting someone that didn't beat him lol !!

Floyd isnt unbeatable . There were alot of better challenges he could have taken but he didnt . However p4p he beats Pac
no way, he wont beat DLH (i like manny) but hes too small
Mayweather is unbeatable in this era of boxing barring going up to middleweight. IN his generation nobody would have beaten him. Margarito? No way, I have a lot more respect for Tony then I did, but he can't lay a hand on Floyd, Mosley? Mosley is just speed, he doesn't have the technical skills to hang with Floyd. Cotto? Cotto isn't fast enough, and maybe not tough enough to take all those counters(we don't know). Paul Williams, he sucks against a guy who can counter punch and stay away ala Quintana, and Floyd is a way better boxer on the move than Quintana is.
I see Whitaker and the 80's welterweight division in terms of modern boxing giving Floyd a really tough time, and the 80's welterweights its mainly because Floyd is so small for a welterweight, I mean p4p you put him at WW Mayweather would be 5'10-5'11(considering he was around 5'8 at 130). That means he would have been probably a little bigger then Leonard, and you look at Floyd at 130 he jabbed way more because it was a lot more powerful in comparison to his opposition, he also threw combinations and wasn't subjected to fighting off the ropes because guys weren't 15x bigger then him. Most importantly he had power at 130, he wasn't a Hearns type puncher, but it was very similar to Leonard's power at WW.
All that being said I think this modern group of WW has amazing debth in the division, but not a whole lot of ATG potential, I mean I could see Berto if he maximizes his potential being an ATG, but besides him and Cotto who in their prime or nearing it in the 147 pound division deserves that type of Greatness? Maybe Margarito as well, but I think by the time their careers are written Cotto will have a more impressive career.
IMO Pac has nothing on FLoyd and would probably get stopped late. Pac is a fantastic fighter, but in FLoyd he would be fighting someone even faster than he, who has forgot more technique and tricks than Pac has ever had.
I don't know how people think Pac would stop Floyd, when FLoyd has taken shots from big punchers at 140, 147 and even 154 in DLH and has stood up to them. Pac isn't the kind of huge puncher that will blast guys out in the first round anyway, he wears you down, and theres no way he lands enough leather on Floyd to wear him down IMO.
People forget to that when Floyd started his career at 130, he was considered to be a big puncher
Castillo v PBF was dead close, could easily have gone either way. No way Castillo won easily, and if the fight is close and the scores are close then they are not bulllshit. Anyway Floyd did what all champs do and whipped Castillo in their second fight.
Also Floyd has improved since then.
As arrogant and annoying PBF can be, and how I fnd his fights quite boring I have to admit that he was clearly the best boxer p4p when he was around.
No way would Pacman beat him, Floyd is just too slick defensively and would beat Pacman with a late KO whether at 130 through to 147
I think some people here have misunderstood the title of the thread. The title is asking whether Pacquaio would get the p4p title from Mayweather. This thread was made many moons ago and this thread was not made to pit Pacquaio against Mayweather in the ring. If my memory does not fail me, this thread was in reaction to the question of whether who is the best pound for pound. Pacquioa then was getting some votes as to pound for pound number 1 when Mayweather was yet reigning as p4p #1.
As to the excitement factor, Pacquaio is p4p #1.
As to technical skill, Mayweather is p4p #1.
In a hypothetical match between the two, Mayweather has a slight edge against the Pacman but I give Pacquiao a chance against the lightweight Mayweather.
As to quality of opponents, Pac is undoubtedly number 1 p4p.
