Default who thinks Dana White is a hypocrite

He bashes EliteXC for pushing Kimbo slice and hyping him.

Yet he has Brock Lesnar fighting Randy Couture for the UFC Heavyweight Championship(which discredits the title imo)

Whether or not Randy holds the title he IS the champ.

So why is Lesnar getting a shot at him?

I do . Ive never liekd Dana White but he is a sucessful business man .

Much like Vince Mcman he is a an as***le but must know what he is doing to make such money from his sport.

If Dana had Fedor he would totally go back on what he has said. Likewise when Vince got Hogan back from the WCW he was no longer a washed up star but the greatest again .

Yes. And why did cote get a shot? Good fighter sure, but contender, no way. Not right now.

It just goes to show you how shallow the talent pool still is in mma. Dana is desperate to find contenders. Pride was out of HW contenders too. The only guy left was Barnett.

I think EliteXC kind of pinned their success on him. Lesnar fighting Couture is win/win for UFC. If Brock wins he's the next superstar and he beat a legend. If Randy wins, he did it again and keeps his legendary status.

Either way Dana benefits. Randy only has a few fights left. He can pass the torch, or set up the next biggest fight. But really it's the biggest fight out there for Randy's comeback. Who would you rather see him fight of the available fighters?

Fedor isn't possible yet so who else?

I don't see why that makes the talent pool low in MMA. Boxing is the same Wlad is fighting Rahman?!?
Vitali comes out of retirement to fight and win champ.
Who was Pavlik gonna fight if not Bhop?

The talent pool ebbs and flows in different weight classes. Both boxing and MMA. Lighter weights have tons of good matchups. It's not sport specific.

The talent pool isn't shallow it's just that Silva has little to no competition in the MW division. Henderson who all were claiming would be the best stylistic match up for Silva went down as well. Throw who you want at him and he'll get the job done. His recent performance though was very lackluster IMO.

Demian Maia could make a great match for Anderson Silva, but the UFC probably wants to give Maia more fights/visibility before that fight. Personally, I think Maia could take him right now.

Case in point: Travis Lutter, a great submission fighter, almost beat Silva and would've done it if he hadn't been fatigued from trying to (unsuccessfully) trying to make weight.
