I think Joe may struggle. Don't think he's got the punch to unsettle Jones, and despite Jones' age I think speed will be equal. It will be determined by defence, and Jones will be better at that. We should expect a boring fight.

lol Jones is still way faster then Joe its not even a comparison. When you watch them back to back (Calzaghe against Kessler or Hopkins) Then Roy against Henshaw and Trinidad, you see that Roy still has almost the same handspeed he did in his prime except he is more hesistent to throw punches hard. Against Trinidad it took Roy 7-8 rounds just to start actually fully throwing his punches before that he was holding back on them because he was too scared to get hit. I think Calzaghe has a hard will to break, but Roy has broken guys wills that are mentally extremely tough just because it seems hopeless going in there with his speed. But once again he needs to throw to win. Against Tarver in their third fight every round Roy actually threw punches Tarver(not the same Tarver we have recently seen either) had no answer.

How have people suddenly forgotton Jones pitifull performances against Tarver and Johnson?

He is not elite any more, he may well have fooled himself more than his fans if he thinks he can take some good out of his performance with Trinidadad.

Felix lost his last fight before Jones widely at 2 weights below and 3 years before hand

How does that give any bearing on a fight against someone who just unified the supermiddles after 11 years as the top boy in that weight and then beats the champ at light heavy

Jones is in over his head.

I will say this though, we may not see a vintage or workman like Joe, we may see the messy, trying to show boat idiot that we saw against Bika.

He was coming off the win against Lacy and knowing he had accomplished recognition and had more people watching him in america he tried fooling around in the ring and just looked embarrasing, hopefully he doesnt do that here, even if he does, it wont make Jones 30 again.

I think Joe is wise to call it a day here, as good as Hopkins is im not sure that a win over Hopkins and a win over Jones would be enough for Joe at this stage of his career to alklow him to get in with someone young like Dawson.

Although Dawson aint great, its just Joe may have softened fighting the old guard, although he never slouches in training so maybe he could pull off another career defining win against Dawson after this, ill bet hes waiting to see how he feels during this, if he feels good, he may want to do the fight.

Jones fans should stop fooling themselves that they are watching the same fighter that fought Toney.

I do not belive Jones is what he was and by no means is a better fighter than calzage the point i am trying to make is power is the last thing to go he is bigger and stronger than joe and he hits harder so joe has to be careful and not underestimate him as alot of people here are doning if joe boxes clever and uses his full aresnel jones will not get a look in but if he underestimates him he will end the night on his back.
I think thats a fair point for jones fans as well as calzage fans both are expierened fighters so cannot be underestimated
I think calzage will win and win well if he boxes clever

Where is Jones power, he couldnt put a dent in Trinidad, Adjamu, Hanshaw, Johnson or Tarver, infact the last person to feel Jones power was Woods 6 years ago and he finished on his feet.

Jones knows he has not got the legs to keep up with calzage so he will have to throw everything at him early i think he still has somthing not much but who knows
