    Default Froch: Calzaghe got beat!

    Froch: Calzaghe got beat!
    Wednesday, April 23 2008

Super middleweight contender Carl Froch (22-0, 18 KOs) says he will produce a better performance than Joe Calzaghe did over the weekend in his WBC final eliminator against Denis Inkin at the Trent FM Nottingham Arena on May 10. The winner of Froch-Inkin will earn the right to be the next mandatory challenger for the WBC title currently held by Calzaghe, although Joe who has now arrived back in the UK, is giving few indications that he will ever defend that belt. "...it was a terrible performance from him and I thought Hopkins did enough on the night," said Froch. "Calzaghe was messy and inaccurate with his punches. Nothing really landed on Hopkins. I thought Calzaghe got beat."

    ---------------------------------------------

Hmmm... I tend to agree with him not landing much of anything but I still think Joe pulled it out. I mean, c'mon. Not landing anything of consiquence is still landing... Whether or not it's hurting him was not disputed.

I just thought this was interesting.

Yeah ....Sounds like a bit of trash talk to help himself get some publicity so maybe Warren and Calzaghe are baited more into having a bout with him....

But as the old expression goes...Be Careful what you wish for...

Joe Calzaghe ain't no Robin Reid or Tony Dodson....

And just my 2 cents for Froch...

45 other men felt Joe was sloppy and lost bouts in the past as well

If Froch said it then it must be true, ignore the fact that he is envious of Galzaghe fame and fortune and will never ever fight him.

He's just as bad as Witter is with Hatton really.

I quite like Froch anyhow. He's entitled to his opinion.

Some people will say anything if they think it will get them a shot. Every day Joe C gets older and Froch is hoping to catch Joe C on the downslide. Kessler didn't. Same for B-HOP. And if Froch got a shot within the year, neither would he. But I believe Joe C's next fight will be against RJJ. That will probably be Joe C's last fight.
It feels good to be back home.
