Darchinyan Keeps His Promise. Knocks Out Mijares in 9

As for his future, don't look for a rematch with Nonito Donaire who handed him his first loss. Donaire recently parted ways with promoter Gary Shaw, who still harbors a bit of ill-will for his former fighter.

When asked about a rematch, "Shaw replied, "I have a little dog that begs. That's what Nonito will have to do if he wants that rematch. No chance."

Darchinyan however appeared to want that fight as much as he wanted the Mijares bout.

"If [Donaire] gos all 12 rounds with me, he will retire. I'm going to punish him. I promise you that."

a rematch with donaire will be a much competitive one.vic has improved but i doubt if he could beat donaire.styles make fights.and vics style is just made for nonito's.unless a dramatic change happens to vics style or if he could hit donaire with a bomb from the 'blind side' (or should i say a lucky punch) he can pull it of.even donaire who's never been down in his career (like vic before he KO'd him) cant stand that.any fighter wont be able to take that.im not saying its a lucky punch on donaire's case,,it was his gameplan and that sweet nasty lefthook is indeed part of his arsenal.but to me the word timing is kinda synonymous to the word luck.in some ways

Vic is the man. This could be the second biggest upset of the year. It may be the first. I don't know one person that picked Vic in this fight. Can anyone name a boxing writer that chose Vic to win? Hats off.

I was at the Nonito Donaire fight. I have pictures, which I'll post later. Nonito came out to a Philipino Hip Hop group. It was actually pretty proper.

Also, in passing I said hello to Ricky and Matthew Hatton. Obviously, he was dressed casually, but Ricky didn't look overweight at all. To me, he really looks like a British Bulldog.

Mijares just doesn't like getting hit. He needed to be first. Everytime he was first or initiated the attack he found the most success in this fight. When you initiate, your sure to take some hitting back, on an average, especially against someone awkard.
Sure Mijares could have been knocked out by the 4th round, BUT this is BOXING, you fight for the win.

Hopefully Vic fights Carlos Montiel, would be b*d*ss.
