Well I am not expecting PAC to win on Dec 6th. but I am going to root for him. Who knows, Manny might win, he is small, fast and can be elusive enough to get in and out against an old drag queen who was getting beat up by a short, fat, soft hitting Forbes.

Obama and PAC... both big winners....

As soon as the West Coast closed it was a done deal.

Downtown Providence is insane right now

1 AM people are marching in the streets, cheering, beating drums, walking towards the Capital building. Literally thousands of people.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I honestly believe this is a great day for America. I am surprised to find that it revived a tiny amount of my faith in America, I thought that had completely died long ago.

I'm sure I'll be back to my bitter, cynical self in about a week.

I am absolutely delighted by the result. Finally, out with this Neo-con-fundamentalist horrorshow. And finally the majority of the American people stood up and said "Cut the crap!".

Still too many weird ass Republican voters out there for my liking though. There was one guy on the BBC who was challenged on why he voted Republican "Well, Im a life long Republican and I do at least still have my farm" was his wonderfully enlightened response. The Republicans at the top really couldnt give two shits about this silly little man and his waning farm. But he's a life long voter so he will most likely keep doing it! Too many people like that, who just wont face up to the reality and seriousness of a situation. "Well Ive always done that so I might as well keep doing it and hope for something". Duh. People who voted for another term of Bush, a term that produced NOTHING of any meaning nor value for any hard working lower rung individuals. And it took another term of the shit to sway just enough to shift their vote or actually just get out there and vote at all. Still, it was enough.

Obama is inheriting a shell of an economy though and an America that has been seriously damaged in the eyes of the world. Becoming President is a start, but there is a shitload of work to do. I wish him all the best.

I imagine that the shine is going to come off this election fairly fast when having a black president doesn't matter to people who can't afford their house. With that being said, it's reassuring that the US at least realizes it's important to change. Amazing how close elections are, I thought this should have never been close and that 2004 should have never been close but oh well.

For months Bilbo has been arrogantly asserting that the US people were beneath voting a black guy named Barack Obama in but they did and now that is all you say? Please pretend to know about America some more on this thread. I'd neg rep you if I had the chance, not that I'm vindicated or anything just that I wanto neg rep you.

Why do you not have a chance to neg rep me?

Just spread some around and get to it.

As for voting in Obama, I'll give them credit, they chose the best candidate and didn't let race interfere. They also didn't rig the election so it's all cool.

Obama definitely seemed like the best candidate, not old and senile, not a warmongerer and of course most importanly of all not another Republican.

George Dubya's presidancy was a catastrophy so at least they didn't vote in another one of those guys.

I hope Obama does a great job.

I honestly thought Morgan Freeman would be the first black President.
