Calzaghe beats Dawson though and no way Hopkins beat Calzaghe. Silly talk.
I disagree, I recently watched the fight against and scored it for Hopkins by a point. He landed by far the more effective, accurate punches. Calzaghe mainly came forward while flailing. You can make a very good case for Calzaghe being the winner, but it was as close as the scorecards indicate.

Apart from the forearm Calzaghe looked superb he has to fight again. Dawson would be an easy fight for Joe and would get him 2 paper titles (he is the champ)

Roy showed heart and guts and goes up in my book he looked old but would still handle most of the 175lb division.

Roy showed grit and guts he took his beating like a man.

Honestly you are a total prick, Joe whooped that ass and it it wasnt for a forearm smash would have won every round.

Kinda like Hopkins did against Pavlik. (The Pavlik plod)

Roys inactivity would cost him real bad. As for Hopkins he is a bad style for Joe but as Calzaghe sais he thought he would walk straight through Hopkins.

Calzaghe on that form would easily beat Hops (With a fair ref) and would obliterate Dawson.

Why would Dawson be an easy fight?

used to post on this forum, havent for a while and new user name. this fight made me need to post something, as have just watched this on my own at home as the missu couldnt give a flying fig about boxing. obv now american fans will say rjj was past it, but for some people jc could go to mount olympus and beat zeus using only the pinky off one of his hands and people would find fault with it! hbo commentator was equally ignorant, who is chad dawson? not even in the same league as jc/bh/rjj/mk etc

i backed rjj to win by ko at 5/1 and looked like a champ after round 1 but feel no pain losing that bet as it was a truly great performance from joe. unfortunately i cant see any reason why he wouldnt retire now, as who is there left to fight? only outside chance is de la hoya at a catch weight, but if he loses to pacman, even this is irrelevant.

jc for the time being is the greatest boxer on the planet as he has beat the man who beat the man over and again in his recent fights, hats off to him.

calzaghe beats a washed-up jones and acts like a wise-ass punk all the way through; throughout the run-up to the fight he said he's taking the fight because jones "is a legend." marciano was a legend too. calzaghe should have dug him up out of his grave and fought him. then he could brag and brag and brag about how he beat an all time great. calzaghe is no all-time great, and only a 17 year-old brit might not grasp this simple truth. please retire calzaghe so we don't have to see your smug wise-ass mug no more.

Now as some of you may know I'm not the biggest RJJ fan nore the biggest Joe fan.
But one thing I realized tonight was that in his prime RJJ would have schooled Joe.
And you can't convince me otherwise.
I do agree fully; but for tonight; they are only what 3 years apart in age? so to me thats not an old man fighting a prime lad.
    Age means little in boxing.

How long you've been in boing and how shopworn you are.

A 40 year old can have more legs then a 23 year old depending. Prime is not determined by age, Prime is determined when they are at their physical and mental best.

Roy's style depended on his reflexes 99 percent of the time. When you get a step slower that style isn't going to work.

one thing i did wonder was why wasnt roys cut man using vaseline to either plug the leak, or guide it around the eye, and didnt see an iron used to reduce swelling. certainly not saying i know better, just wonder if anybody knows why...

Dr. Lucey was using swabs only, I myself did not understand why there was no vaseline being used.

Who in the hell really cared
Jones was spent three years ago, he only took the fight for one last payday.
I didnt even bother to watch,Im not spending 50 bucks of my money to watch the mediocre beat the crap out of the elderly.
10 years ago this would have been a good fight, but it isnt 10 years ago
