It damn sure better be a walk in the park if Haye is going to amount to anything!!!!

Joe Mesi struggled with Monte just due to stamina and because Joe had no jab at all or any defense.

Dominick Guinn lost to Monte Barrett just because he wasn't a busy fighter that night.

Wladimir beat Monte to a pulp knocking him down 5 times en route to a 7th round TKO

Nicolay Valuev kept Monte at bay and ended up stopping him in 11

If David Haye doesn't KO Monte in 5-8 rounds then Haye's place in the heavyweight division is going to be questioned and rightfully so. You Haye fans are crazy one minute it's "Oh he's going to spark out Wladimir" and the next it's "A fight vs Monte Barrett isn't a walk in the park".....so is Haye any good or isn't he I guess you're just nervous about Haye's first big heavyweight fight that means anything...well I will just say CLIFF COUSER.....you should be put at ease, easy TKO win for Haye early in the fight.

Haye by Ko in the 1st couple of rounds - It will be a walk in the park.

Monte is a decent 'gatekeeper' in the Heavyweight division, a fring contender who can pull off the odd suprise.

He went 12 rounds with Rahman and 11 with Valuev in recent years but Hayes timing, speed, accuracy and power will dispose of Monte early.

There is very little to fear with Monte, his power isn't anything special and his boxing is based more off of effort than of being any kind of great defensive genius.

David Haye should let his hands go and it should be simple....if he doesn't then he's going to have trouble

I cant wait to see Haye fight.

Here are the odds from Coral bookmakers of the fight:

Haye to win 1/6 odds on favourite! Barrett to win 7/2 A draw 28/1

Not dought these prices will change as the fight draws closer!

I am not sold on Haye until he beats Barrett which will tell us how he can compete at heavy weight. If he KOs him in dramatic fashion I think he can possibly be a legitimate contender (obviously he has some skills I just want to see how he takes a heavyweight punch and how his punches effect heavyweights). That being said I am a long way from convinced he can beat either Klitschko. I have to say that all of his trash talking has kind of turned me against him. To say that he is going to clean out a weak heavy weight division and call out the recognized number 1 contender (wlad) without even proving himself at heavyweight makes me wish he gets brutally KOed (I am just telling you how I feel). I dont recall if Holyfield was talking a ton of trash just before he fought his first heavyweight fight? Seems he is putting alot of pressure on himself......

I agree with the redneck if Vitali or Wlad were fighting Barrett we'd all be complaining that they were allowed to take such an easy title defense.

Haye is only starting out on his heavyweight campaign so the choice of opponent is perfectly justified, but if he want's us to take seriously his claim to be the best, he'll certainly have to beat down Monte Barrett as well as the current best would.

If this goes to points or Haye labours to a win we can write him off as being fuck all in this division.

If he loses then it's as embarassing for him as when Aufley got ko'd by Michael Sprott.

That said I DO think Haye will win and win quickly.

If Haye is going anywere then his " power and speed " as we are always debating should easily get rid of Barrett , because lets face it , the longer a HW fight goes for Haye the more chance his chin will let him down.
Haye TKO 2 with Barrett protesting.
