Calzaghe at that point was no different than Michalczewski or Ottke...he didn't have a lot on his record and he didn't want to fight away from England but he DID want to fight RJJ the #1 p4p fighter in the world...what do you expect Roy to say "Oh why of course Joe, I'll take a pay cut and travel to podunk Wales to fight you infront of a crowd of toothless soccer hooligans....like you even had to ask"

I love how the more famous and more successful American fighters are supposed to just jump at the opportunity to fight the best England has to offer and if they don't want to fight them IN ENGLAND then they "dodged them"

You know that yes? Joe has said previously he would fight Jones anywhere...in the US or whatever but Roy was never interested back then. Ok so Joe didn't have Bhop/kessler etc on his record then but bottom line is Roy wasn't interested. Don't bring location into it though as that is just rubbish.
