Calzaghe's point, although subtle, was that Dawson is a young natural light heavyweight who hasn't established himself enough to fight Joe. Joe is a natural super middleweight. His last two victories have come against guys who are his size and his age. Dawson would be too much risk for too little reward.

He is an all-time great and he should retire. He is probably the best ever at volume punching.

And thats because his opponents struggle to cope with what he throws at them ... why else would they hide in a shell .. why dont these opponents simply walk through JC if he is so bad ...
