i heard through the grapevine that victor ortiz, one of oscar's sparmates and the same guy who suppossedly beat up oscar in sparring, thinks pac will win this fight. he suppossedly said that oscar lacks the power to knock manny out, that oscar is hittable and too old to fight manny. Ortiz should know because he was once a sparring partner to Manny. he allegedly also said that "manny is too fast and too strong for oscar. you can't see where his punches are coming, and not an easy target. you trap him a moment but just a fraction of a second and he's gone. And he's very durable too. I connected some big punches but i am surprised he is still standing. He was under my weight category when we sparred before, how much more now that he weights higher than me now? Manny now should be very dangerous. A lot of people thought that this fight is a mismatch. And I agree because Oscar is no match against manny". this is pretty much unconfirmed but the fellow this report is coming from has been consistently quite accurate with a lot of previous insider infos he's come out with so far.

i do know that oscar had problems when he sparred with the midget ivan calderon before and that one has been confirmed by calderon himself. oscar SHOULD be the overwhelming favorite to win but there are too many other factors and intangibles to consider that can tilt the chances of pac to his favor. the first time i heard this fight mention i thought it was ludicrous and a farce, but looking at all the reports and inside information coming from both camps has made me into a believer that pac will surprise most so called experts who said that pac doesn't belong in the ring with de la hoya.

can't wait to see the fight. one thing for sure whether if oscar is really too big for manny or not, both of them are not backing down which should make for a very exciting match.

I have consistently predicted before that Oscar will win this one but as the fight is fast approaching (together with the different reports I've heard), it seems that the table is turning in favor of Pac.

    Andre,
As to addicted_to_boxing, he is the guy I've been telling people before that deserves to be neg repped. He comes here only when Pacquaio has a fight and gives only negative comments on Pac.
