    Default Hatton shot or not

OK aint seen last nights fight as have lost intrest in the money making machine... so how did he look ?

was it a masterclass or just ricky bulling a guy with no power to keep him off?

    is he shot or not?

looks like we will be treat to hatton pac or hatton odlh... the dlh one is more likly outcome which wouldn't be half bad.... if Ricky still has it

    Not.

It was a bit of a masterclass tbh. He started out a bit slow, but found his range quickly. He fought mostly on the outside and made Paulie look very very poor, which he is not.

His jab was nice when he used it and there was plenty of head movement which has beeen missing of late. Paulie really struggled to find a target, mostly because Hatton was pretty elusive and beating him to the punch frequently.

I think it was a subtle improvement on what he has done in the previous two years, but at that level, it makes a huge difference. I'm just exceited at the possibility of a Pacquaio fight next year.

he looked good -busy, plenty of movement etc.. like the Hatton of a couple years back.

however a lot of it, in my opinion, was down to the fact that Malignaggi was useless and brought nothing at all to trouble Hatton with - and I mean nothing. I said earlier he had about as much magic as Paul Daniels but now I think Ali Bongo would be more accurate a description.

I did have sympathy with him when he was stopped though - he could have seen the final bell out no problem and I found it a bit strange (not complaining though as I had the 11th round at 33/1 ).

That was no way to have your first stoppage loss.

In conclusion - he is not shot. But Paulie didn't provide a means test.

Don't want to see him fight De La Hoya, though its likely. Wish DLH would sod off now - he don't deserve these massive paydays any more in pure fighting terms.

Will be supporting Manny on the 6th though it's a step too far for him - as I think Hatton is too.

But anyway - see you all at Wembley

    Shot. Totally shot.

Malignaggi is LIMITED. Bradley or Witter beat Hatton right now IMO.

Ricky is a lovely guy, great fun and I like him a lot. But a great fighter he isn't. He fought and looked exactly the same as he did against Floyd - but it didn't matter because Paulie can't punch.

Every single word of what you have said in this is spot-on mate!!!I totally agree with the fact that Hatton has improved jab and head movement too.Hatton jab was great!!To think hatton won the fight with a really comfortable margin without unloading hardly any trademark body shots say it all.If it was'nt for Paulie holding up close i think Hatton could have took him out if he was unleashed.Well done Hatton!!!Nice improvement!

Your spot-on that we want to see Hatton fight Pacman too mate! That would be ASEWOME!

ricky looked good i think the reason why he didnt slip etc too much was because he didnt have to as he was walking through paulies shots

    Cheers guys and girls

tells me what i was after... Hatton with Floyds help worked better against this type of opponent.

still has me thinking if the mauling version of Hatton would has done a quicker job?

would hate to see Hatton Vs Pac if i'm totally honest but then i was never that keen on watching some big guy beating up on some little guy in the pub.

but saying that the only way i see Pac beating ODLH is if the promoter turns up rather than the fighter

Hatton looked good. Much better than the past few years, and his best boxing since the first six rounds against Urango. Paulie was looking to hold at every opportunity. A stricter ref would have taken away points and Hatton would have had him out of there.

I was impressed, especially as I did have my reservations before this bout.

His footwork was as good as ever, and he was using the jab which he has almost forgotton about in recent times.

Im hopeful that this is the start of good partnership with Floyd senior and Ricky takes on and wins a few big money fights. I dont want him anywhere near DLH at 147 though because its unfair and Ricky should have learned from the Mayweather debacle.

But money talks so we shall see.

I really enjoyed his performance, not even close.

Ricky physically is not what he was.
He's not quite as explosive as he was and does not appear to be a straight knockout puncher at eite level.

However he did provide us with an adequate replacement. He improved his fitness, fought with a bounce in his step for 12 rounds and threw volume. As Merchant commented, his "dynism" had returned. Mentally he seemed to be in a good place, attacking with less abandon and showing calculated movement.

icky looks good moving toward a Pac fight

Hatton is not shot at this time.

However, given his lifestyle in between fights, he figures to lose it sooner rather than later. You can only boil yourself down in weight so many times. Just ask Erik Morales.

    Malignaggi got robbed

Seriously though, Hatton turned back the clock. It seems the Mayweather Sr. has shown Ricky how to be a little more efficient with his style. I thought it was a very impressive performance from Ricky. I Paulie would have given more effort, Hatton would have looked even better. PM went from hair extensions to doing impressions, unfortunately this time he did Ruiz.

Hatton needs to fight a world class fighter, i dont think he is shot but i still think hes far from his very best, Paulie was just a belt holder ( well initiallay when the fight was made)

Who had Paulie beat? No one thats who hes best performance was a beat down from Cotto, i want to judge Ricky in another big fight a Cotto, Pac or maybe Bradley or even Marquez, people will say Marquez is maybe a tad small but he is taller and has a reach advantage, i think JMM would need a fight against an Uranga or someone of a similar standard at 140 before we could judge becasue if Ricky was to fight JMM in JMM first figth at 140 and beat him we know what the fallout would be " JMM was no 140 fighter".

Paulie was seen as the number 2 light welter Ricky fought great last night lets not start taking it away from him most thought he would be to quick and outbox Ricky as it was Ricky outboxed the boxer.

Number 2 in a weak division i for one thought Hatton would beat Paulie evn i thought a shot Ricky would, if you asked prior to the fight where is Paulie in p4p status no where near the top 25 i would guess in many peoples opinion, not taking anything away from Ricky but Paulie is far from an elite fighter.
