He has foughten the second most competitive fight with MAyweather of FLoyd's career though going by rounds it should have been a landslide. He also beat Forbes nearly every round who is a very accomplished pro, and he ko'ed Mayorga in a way nobody else has.
As I look back, I am starting to think more and more Hagler was overrated. Most of his glory comes from beating natural ww's or even a lightweight in DUran's case, but his fight with Duran was very close, and he just had a better jaw then Hearns. Leonard made him look horrible whether he won or not. Besides that I don't consider his competition any stronger than Calzaghe's or Roy JOnes Jr's if not actually weaker. His most recognizable fae besides the other members of the fantastic four was Mugabi who imo turned out to be a joke against top level competition, Terry Norris KO'ed him, Gerland McClellan did as well in 1 round. All in all I think Hagler's career shows that back in the day a few good wins(not even good wins but fights against big name opponents) could consolidate your career where as now you need more than that.

Roberto Duran vs Marvin Hagler wasn't that close, thats a myth. Check out this thread i already answered your questions above.

Good call! When it does happen, oh boy!
HAHA! Was waiting for either you, bruno, or Dark Lord to come in here and say that. You won!
Any possible chance to poke at him, you're right there. Gotta admire your consistency. Dealing with a Pac hater is just as hard as dealing with a Pac fan so you guys are made for each other.
Just like the Calzaghe thing, wait til Saddoboxer gets in here and sees your post!

I've always said that if the amount of money a fighter earns is any measure of his ability, then de la Hoya is overrated. But I guess there is more to the money thing than just what happens inside the ring.

Here are fighters whom I feel get a wee bit too much rating from people.
Riddick Bowe:
I've read things like "Bowe at his best/prime he'd beat Ali" or he'd beat Lennox.
I mean really how long was Bowes prime?
1 fight....
Aaron Pryor:
Such a short career, whos premier wins came over 2 fighters who were past their best days. Plus this whole "SRL ran from him" has become a line used to try and glorify him. SRL wasn't the only top fighter around so to me it doesn't mean much.
