A close fight where Margarito's will won out. This wasn't one sided route by any means, Cotto was right in it until the 11th round, and should have been quite ahead on the scorecards. Owned, Dominated, destroyed. That is the difference between Chavez-Meldrick Taylor I, and Chavez-Meldrick Taylor II, one of those was the destruction of a fighter, the other was a fight where the superior boxer was clearly outboxing the brawler, but in the end accumulation caught up with them. Of course Meldrick Taylor outboxed Chavez for a lot more rounds, but both him and Cotto were comprehensively outboxing their respective opponents.
