3 x 3 instead of 3 x 2 would be good...
Any scrapper can just windmill away
If I had the choice between 4 x 2 and 3 x 3 though I'd take the 4 rounds. What ever takes the opponent into deeper water. Nobody has endurance like my club!![]()

3x3 is harder, 1 minute longer and less recovery
Pain lasts a only a minute, but the memory will last forever....

I think you will definately see people gassing out more in the final minute now. That's 1 minute more boxing, 1 minute less rest, and for longer durations. In novice and 3x2...often cardio is the determining factor for close matches. Guy still able to throw...wins.
This is for open class, and so if a person hasn't learned they need the cardio and stamina by now, then this should help convince them as they will be rag tag tired and catching lotsa late 3rd round shots on heavy legs.
The more I think on it, I like it even though it will be harder. It tells me if I put the effort in to training, I should get rewarded.

The way I see it, generally the most scoring action ocurs in the last minute of a round as the fighters settle, become accustomed to one another and find their own rhythm.
With two minutes preceeding this final minute I feel there will be more "physical action," in amateur fights. Fighters who previously have fought in bursts over two minutes will now have to apply themselves both offensivel and defensively over a longer duration and conditioning will have to be reviewed at the upper levels.

That sounds good, I wonder if that's going to apply to national competition as well.
Times are changing, I'd like to see that amateur "throw a lot of punches" philosophy become more about pacing and selecting their punches.
If you hear a voice within you saying that I am not a painter, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.

Evaluation of gender differences in physiology: an introduction

This gender bias is even more poignant given recent evidence that has shown that females may in fact be better suited to ultra-endurance sports compared with males [10]. A `®eld' study matched males and females for
performance times at the 56 km distance and found that the females outperformed the males at the 90 km distance [10]. Regression analysis has shown that males outperform females at distances up to *42 km, with an increasing performance advantage for females above an intercept of 66 km [10]. Another group reported that equally trained males and females performed similarly at 42 km, yet the females outperformed the males at the 90 km distance [11].
Sourpuss - I think i speak on behalf of both of us regarding this idea that we can't do rounds which are a minute longer like the guys - to those AIBA knobs who decided this:

If it's any consolation Adam...I can't read either. I thought I was fighting 3x3 with the changes, but after further inspection, it appears to be 4x2, and maybe even 3x2. I can't seem to get it clear.
Suppose I'll find out next tournament.
