I am American...i'd like it here, cuz I'm greedy., But this fight could generate more revenue in England, seriously. Pac is not having any trouble with popularity. He is almost a household name at this point, imho.

Hatton will lose. I'd like to see him win, but I just don't think it will happen, unless Mayweather Sr can get rid of some stinky habits he's holding onto. He could get seriously exposed by Pac.

    It's not a title fight

It will almost certainly be for both the IBO title (yes I know) & the Ring Mag Light-Welterweight title.

I don't think so....I don't think Manny is going to settle in the 140lb division...Right now he is just fighting who ever he can worth their salt

Pacquiao was quoted as saying he has no objections to Wembly, as he loves boxing fans all over the world, regardless of race and boxer preference. I think he believes in the saying, the more the merrier, plus he has never fought in England.

If the Vegas venue pushes through, then there goes my puny reason to visit folks there! I was hoping for that BIG TIME!

little note: It is spelled Filipino, and not Philippino.

What is the seating capacity of Wembley Arena, by the way?

Wembley Arena & Wembley Stadium are 2 different places. The Arena holds somewhere between 12,000 & 20,000. Wembley Stadium has a capacity of 90,000+, plus at least 200 more that could be seated ringside

    Would have been so sweet!!

Seating for 90,000 people and for concerts they have 15,000 standing on the pitch area. So potentially about 100,000 boxing fans could see it live.

Even if every ticket was £50 they take $10,000,000 so yes, that is a fucking big gate lol

It really makes more sense for Wembley than Vegas if promoting boxing back to prominence is utmost consideration. Which nowadays is sadly not.

Imagine the impact of that fight in terms of the excitement buildup for it touches a lot more people on a live basis. That is the reason why during Ali's time, boxing was so popular. He fought in so many other countries and places. Germany, Philippines, Zaire in Africa comes to mind. Ali was the biggest draw then, his willingness to fight it anywhere is stuff of legends. We still talk about it now even after several decades have gone past.

I am thinking that with Pacquiao's heightened awarenes of his place in boxing history, if it were solely on him, he'd pick Wembley over Vegas.

Thanks for the pics, they're magnifick! Gives me clear perspective of what I will be missing out, when Father Bob makes it official and announces the fight venue will be in Vegas.

    It is always... money talks.

This doesn't mean it won't be a title fight though as I'm sure the IBO belt will be on the line just for promotional purposes, and the Ring belt holds more credibility than a lot of the others anyway. Whether Pac chooses to defend the titles afterwards is immaterial

Hatton is the universally recognised lightwelter champion.

He doesn't need a silly alphabet. The fight doesn't need a silly alphabet.
