Well villa vs wilde was in the U.S. but I do agree I would prefer the fight at wembley stadium because what ever happens the fans win. The U.K deserves this event. I think US would be a little neutral place. As many of you have said, thousands of Hatton fans would go to US just to watch him fight.

Im sick of this pandering to what the US audience wants. Its a fight between a Brit and a Filipino. Both huge fighters on their own terms.

Sure money is important. But the chance to sell out a stadium and make a real event would be magnificent. And it could never happen in the states with any fighter.

And the real US fans who enjoy boxing, which would likely be the Americans that follow or know Hatton and Manny, would most likely pay anyway to watch it at a slightly irregular hour.

It isnt a case of fuck Hatton and what he wants. Its a case of some of his fans saying what they actually want. If a pro Hatton crowd in a stadium can generate a lot of interest then so be it. As far as who is the better draw, Pac is a much bigger draw. Pac has a huge fanbase in the US. He trains out of LA, and the west coast and a few other parts of the US have huge Filipino populations. Ever been to LA or San Diego, Miles? Even most people on the East Coast have no idea how large the Filipino population is other places. Also, Pac has a fanbase in the Latin population of the US and in Latin America itself. Those are huge markets who are all more likely to buy the fight or attend if it's on Las Vegas time.

You can't compare this to the KT fight. Kostya/Hatton wouldn't have drawn crap in the US or anywhere else except the UK. At that time, nobody over here knew who Ricky Hatton was, and honestly, not many outside of hardcore fans knew who Kostya was. Ricky, on the other hand, had a huge following in the UK and nowhere else. Kostya went to the UK because that's where he could make the most money. He was a Russian based out of Australia. Please. He also never had the fanbase or frankly, the resume of Pacman.

Worldwide Manny is the bigger draw. It isn't even close. I'm sure Manny would have gone to England if that was where he could get the most money, but I'm sure at the end of the he would rather fight in Vegas, 4 hours from Freddie's gym. Hatton and his team have a say where he fights, if he fights in vegas there will be only about 8,000 of his fans will get tickets and many 1000s wont.Where if it was in britain it would sell at least 80-90,000 easy. I wonder how many PPV sales Manny would do in the US if his opponent wasn't Oscar or a Latino fighter. If this fight gets made we're going to find out and I expect it to be limited. Hatton-Manny won't do anywhere near a million US PPV buys in my opinion, maybe less than 500 000. Hatton's UK PPV money total might even be in the same ballpark. I'm no expert on how much Manny's domestic TV market is worth to the promotion but seeing as the GDP of the Phillipines is about 5% of the UK's then I'm guessing Manny's home market is worth relative buttons. The economic leverage is actually pretty samey on both sides in this negotiation.
