dont forget Corrales, Castillo, Gatti, Judah, etc floyd has more names than Pac does on his list so its no comparison. and are u aware that floyd is a 5 division champ and hasnt been beat nor how can pac beat floyd hmmmmm. u cant answer that cause its never been done FACT![]()
we can make a list and I can add guys similar to the levels of gatti judah castillo corrales but yet you prolly haven't heard of themFloyd does not have more names then pac. Pac has nearly twice more fights then floyd and is younger, plus pac has fought atleast 4 hall of famers.
Floyd is a 5 time division champ, pac is too but at the time there was no ring title when marco was considered as featherweight king. Therfor its only 4 time division champ but 5 time champion for pac.
Pac has gone from 106 to 147, thats 41 pounds! INSANE!
floyd 130 to 154, thats 24 pounds again pac nearly doubles him. Just like if we made a list of fighters each oppenent beat pac would double him again.
OK floyd is undefeated so? does that mean much now a days? it actually just raise an eyebrow for the real boxing fan. it signals, he has a suspect record.
Anyways, like i said talent wise floyd is up there but resume wise his is very suspect. Pac can not be doubted because he clearly fights anybody thats put in front of him. He even considering fighting COTTO! a guy floyd avoided!![]()
I wouldn't go so far as to call Morales shot by the second fight - the third, for sure, but he still had something in the tank for the second. Except for the scoring error, Pac would have won the first JMM fight, and the second was close enough to not be regarded as a gift decision (see Valuev-Holyfield). I understand it gets old fighting off the Pac nuthuggers, but those three names are also three future HoFer's. Nothing to blithely disregard.
Yes, Mayweather has better names, but between Morales, Barrera, and JMM, Pacquiao fought 7 fights. Add Oscar's name to that, and those are 4 fighters that are DEFINITELY going to be no-brainers to the hall of fame that Pac has fought and beaten. I don't think that can be said about Floyd's resume.
I think the keywords are, "unless you bring up those guys." I think it can definitely be argued who has the better resume between Floyd and Manny but I think the reason I stated above would give Pac the nod.
Pound for Pound Pacmans oppenets are better, theres nothing that will sway my mind on that. If Barrera is naturally same weight as all of floyds oppenets, he takes them out. Almost every fighter has that one guy thats nips at your heels, you could say JMM was Pacquiao's, but he never beat Manny Pacquiao. I wont ever take anything away from JMM, hes a great fighter. They were both close fights but Manny comes out on top for both. Look at Bernard hopkins. One of the greatest fighters of all time. But he had that one guy, Jermain taylor who nipped at his heals and he couldnt surpass him. Manny Pacquiao will be Mayweathers achilles heel, he's gonna be that one guy! The only way this will be settled is when the two of them mix it up, and I cant wait for that. I think it will be much bigger than Mayweather and DLH. As far as the DLH having all the advatages against Floyd, glove type and all that baby crap, thats mind games pure and simple. Roach did the same thing against Oscar, hovering over him when he was getting his hands taped. Thats mind games. Sugar ray leonard did the same thing to haggler. To try to use that as a crutch shows immaturity! Boxing is just as much mental as it is physical. Floyd may not act like it out of the ring but I can assure you that Manny is much more confident inside that ring, much looser. It takes a while for Mayweather to loosen up and get into a grove, and with Pacquiao's movement its gonna take longer than that!
Hmmm, why does this take me back to Elementary School, where you would hear the boys fighting in the playground, with the standard "Well my dad can beat up your dad" lines.
So, who wants to see my boobs?
Sorry, won't happen. I just thought that I would try to lighten things up in here.
