My personal favorite thing about Bayless is if you get knocked down, he yells the count loud as hell right into your face with a cold hard stare...

Bayless is alright but I have seen him stop a few prematurely. Unfortunitely often nerves gets the better of them in big fights.
If I remember right he had a bad night in one of the T. Norris-Luis Santana bouts.

Than again it's often better they stop it prematurely than too late. As long as it's not too favour the big name fighter, who's just managed to get in his first decent flurry. I've seen a few of those in domestic fights, most recently in Ricky Burns' last fight.
I would still go with Smoger as the best, closely followed by Bayless & Tony Weeks. Lefty mentions Mickey Vann, but I've felt he's a bit too partial to Frank Warren's fighters a lot of the time

There is a guy in Oklahoma by the name of Gerald Ritter who I think is pretty darn good. He is a ghost. You hardly know he is there. Bayless is outstanding. So is SS.

He's a good ref. But I've always thought he's a homosexual. His hand gestures and grace in the ring certainly indicate that to me.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
