I read he resigned. Naturally they're investigating what happened.
It's shocking to think how this story would have been reported without the passengers catching it on film. There's just no excuse for what he did. None. He wasn't under any sort of threat at all

I'm in Fremont Killersheep so Oakland is right up 880 North the Fruitvale station where this all happened is only 2 stops up from the Fremont station, like I said on new years eve too I was planning on taking Bart to the city that night. I'm closer to San Jose then Oakland but it's still right there kind of crazy I was just on 14th street and Broadway a couple weeks ago so to see it tore up like that is a little crazy which is why I made the post.
It looks like the cop meant to grab his tazer and fired his gun. If that is determined to be what happened then the best you're going to get is manslaughter and since it's a cop there is no way he will be convicted because the trial will be more about tearing down the victim then anything. Of course I have no actual legal knowledge of what will happen but it's pretty hard to hold cops accountable for literally almost anything.

Murder implies intent to kill, does it not? Is there an onus on the prosecution to prove intent to kill, or just that he did it?
Anyways, if he doesn't get convicted, I suppose we can expact some serious race riots in Oakland and probably elsewhere.
