Chris "THE DRAGON" John stopping Rocky Juarez in Houston will be a very impressive performance since even JMM didn't able to stop a one eyed Rocky Juarez... Juarez is a very tough hombre... A KO/TKO win over Juarez will also put added clamor for John-JMM rematch fight possibly at 130 lbs...
Juarez beat Zahir Raheem, gave and very close fights with Barrera and Soto. He KO'd Barrios. Juarez has losses, but they have been against the highest level of competition. Chris John has beaten nobody except getting a total gift decision against JMM.
Stylistically, this is a bad matchup all around, but this is no slam dunk for John, especially in Houston. Personally, I hope John gets robbed in a close fight. It will be justice for the Marquez fight.

I think Marquez has moved on to bigger, better things after his fight with John. I honestly don't think he wants to fight him again. Like I said before, he's still trying to find that angle to get him another fight with Pacquiao.
Thank you! John was given a gift against JMM. And again, YES! Karma is a b*tch and I hope John outboxes Juarez and still loses a decision cause what goes around come around.
Does anyone have the official scorecards from the JMM vs Chris John fight?
I'm not sure John has what it takes to totally outclass Juarez, and that might be what it takes to beat him in Houston. Juarez is actually very skilled and an excellent counterpuncher. The problem is that he isn't fast and he only has one mode of fighting. Barrera played into all of his strengths in the first fight by coming at him and trading. When Barrera boxed him in the second fight, he outclassed him, same as Marquez. In both of those fights, he looked REALLY bad and I think that's why he gets so much hate.
I'm not sure Chris John is good enough to do that to him. Juarez will be coming forward and he will probably land the bigger punches, and John doesn't have the power to hurt him. Judges today time and time again favor the fighter who moves forward unless the retreating fighter really dominates. This is especially true when the pressing fighter is more or less walking through the other guys shots. Two judges scored the second Barrera fight 115-113 for Barrera and I didn't think it was nearly that close. The one that had it 117-111 nailed it.
Mick was right, though, it's probably going to be a snoozefest which ever way it goes. I would much rather see Juarez fight Guerrero. That would be a much more entertaining fight and I would favor Juarez for sure.
It seems to me he has a style that really better suited for the amateurs. He's technically very good and only lets his hands go when he can land nice clean blows that everybody can see. I think that's why he does well with judges. When he lands, you know it. If he had better one shot power, he'd really be something. I don't think he gets enough credit for the Barrios win. He was landing the clean hard shots (albeit one at a time) all night, and I wasn't surprised that he stopped Barrios late.
