This fight is nothing but a confidence booster for Cotto! He took a beating from Toney but Cotto aint no Lacy and he get back to his best when he gets his confidence back.Even if Cotto isnt at his best he is still far too good for Jennings.Jennings is a good domestic fighter and a good bloke but he is'nt worrld class.

It all comes down to how Cotto is mentally after Margarito. Losses like that can permanently change a boxer, he may never be the same again.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I think the way Margarito broke him down may well have finished Cotto as a top-level fighter, and I certainly couldn't see him beating Margarito again, but the fact is even Cotto only 25% as good as he was pre-Margarito will smash Jennings

Not a chance for Jennings. I never actually seen him fight but have seen plenty of the Caguas King. You better put the kids to bed for this one it could get ugly quick.

No offense but how the hell can you say what will happen in the fight, if you have never even seen Michael Jennings fight ?

No. Cotto is a world class fighter with a great resume. Jennings will be lucky to see the fourth round.
Hhhhhmph! Fair enough. I disagree with him having a "great" resume but I agere with Jennings getting knocked out or losing. When Jennings faced Pryce he got hit easily with straight rights and got knocked down. Pryce obviously doesn't hit as hard as Cotto. Imagine if it is Cotto who connected those straight rights? Trouble for Jennings. I can say the same about Jenning's loss aganist Mutley.

I see no threat with Jennings but I wouldn't be shocked if Jennings hurts Cotto as past guys have already.

And of course threads keep coming up about the most popular boxers in the world - this is a boxing forum. Furthermore, it is also not surprising that the most popular boxers evoke strong opinions
See, that's the thing. Threads keep coming about how ODLH is stupid, gay, has no talent, doesn't deserve to be a hall of famer, etc. And nobody says a thing or cries about it, why? Because people hate him. But then you have Cotto as the most likeable guy in this forum. And I question his resume (I have gone fighter through fighter in his resume before, not just "oh, he sucks, he's gay" as people do with ODLH) as many times as these threads keep popping and I am suddenly seen as the bad guy?

Where are these threads about ODH being stupid, gay, and talentless? A few posters say those things, but threads based on those subjects by no means dominate the boards, that is pure hyperbole. A thread about ODH being stupid or gay would be locked and moved immediately. Show me one thread from the last 3 months about ODH being gay or stupid. Not posts, but threads. If you can do it, I'll be surprised and impressed. I've never seen anyone say ODH is talentless either, he's shot now, but he had a ton of talent in his day. I also recall very few instances in which people claim ODH is not a HoFer either, again - more baseless hyperbole. And if you're this bothered about him being called gay, maybe you shouldn't be quite so thin-skinned, he's arguably the most successful boxer ever, I'm sure he'll be ok.

So because you get upset when people deride your favorite fighter, you feel the need to say the same things about Cotto over and over again? That doesn't make any sense at all. Why not try and counter the arguments about ODH if you're such a bastion of boxing knowledge?

You're not seen as a "bad guy" either, you're just seen as reduntant and annoying. If you have a problem with that, I suggest you do something to change it.

I am not going to say that ODLH is g@y but I heard he loves sucking d1cks. As far as him being talented, have you heard him sing?

This fight is nothing more then the chance for the announcers to say "Miguel Cotto IS BACK!"

Miguel Cotto could beat every welterweight out there except Margarito. Imo he will never be mentally right until he beats Margarito, which he won't, he doesn't have the mentality that says "I will box 12 rounds and get a decision" he is the type of fighter who is patient for half a fight and then wants to knock someone out. And thats why he will never beat Margarito

Jennings is no mug, he can box very well, he knows what he is up against and will give it his best shot, would be mad to tip him for a win but expect him to be trying, he knows that if he can impress he will be putting him self in the shop window for future fights, I expect Micheal to go out on his shield.
