But after reading the story, I'm with a few others... not really a boxing story per se, or one that involves boxing at all. Just some sort of drunken hillbilly shit with a gun.

Not a classic anecdote, really. And frankly, a bit of a mislead. Should have been titled something more like, "Some Days I Hate Living In West Virginia with all this White Trash."
Not at all. I'm with Trainer on this one. If you are trained in the art of pugilism, or some other martial art, then if push comes to shove your training will be held against you in a court of law. Makes perfect sense. Your training puts extra legal onus on you to avoid physical conflict with the "general public" as much as is reasonably possible.
Bingo, when you go up the ranks in the martial arts, any martial art including boxing, you should be warned, that if you deck the SOB,you might be held more accountable then the other guy.
Its assumed you have more control and more training,so you could have avoided laying him out.
I know thats horseshit, but thats the way it is,I mean anyone whose fought in any martial art knows you take the shot thats there, you dont have time to be a discerning shopper, but that isnt the way the court will see it.

I must admit this thread comes across like one those classic 'You best hold me back guys, else I'm going to kill him, hold me back, HOLD ME BACK!!!, ........Damn he was lucky you held me back' type stories.

As for your pugilistic skills meaning you'd get into trouble for hitting him, I think this applies more to actual professional fighters whose bodies are lethal weapons, rather than a guy who hangs a punch bag in his garage. You'd could have hit him and been fine.

Yeah,Gold and Silver at the Reading invitational in martial arts, the trainer of the only pro in Southern WV,a Toughman and a Rough N Rowdy champ to me credit as well, yeah Id have have been okey dokey,as long as your version of it involves the pokey. Especially since even though he's acting like a douche,he's a local boy,and Im not, he grew up around here, and I moved here 4 years ago.
Even you Bilbo, can do that kind of mental math

My guess is a dude is holding a gun in your face with your kid in the room you aren't really thinking about prison because the system is out to get you. But I guess everything is out to get TM.

Don't know all that to me sounds a bit like Al Bundy and his 4 touchdowns in one game in High School football.

I just found the 2007 Rough n Rowdy championship fight on youtube.

I dunno man it kind of seems a step down from Thunder's trailer park belt.

On the bright side, it was fun watching the Star Wars kid get ktfo.

Bilbo, when you get 4 touchdowns, you can hang out with me and Al,until then stick to obsessing over which poster could be compared to a fictional young adult book series.

Hey I came second in a local chess competition last month, I guess that means I shouldn't debate you because I'm too much of an intellectual heavyweight

Don't fret I'm only joking with you Monkey, you post a stupid thread up like this you deserve some flack, it's the Saddo way of things.

If you think I'm being out of order though blame Fenster, his remark about how the cripple must have thought you looked like a plum had me rolling on the floor and I couldn't resist joining in.

But it's all in good humour buddy, we all take the piss out of each other on here, it's good fun all round.

While I understand f-ing with people,I had to vent somewhere,it beat the hell out of,of well, walking down there and beating the hell out of someone. I figured venting my spleen on the internet, beat seven kinds of hell out of explaining it to the officers.

No worries buddy, glad you posted it, funny thread and that Rough N Rowdy vid was gold, the way that fat retard kid collapsed at the end was comedy at its finest.

If I ended up in a similar situation, a guy was waving a gun around or threatening me, I'd pick up my daughter and be gone. I couldn't risk her being around a person with that power in that sort of condition.
If he atempted to stop me leaving or attempted to physically impose himself, I don;t care of the implications, I'd rake my elbow across his temple.

Some of those fights can be really good, and some of them, ummmmmmmm, I dont know why you wouldnt destroy any evidence. Its all semi-pr,so you never know what your going to get.Sort of like the tape floating around from when Zelenoff lost to his own heavybag,I never understood why he let that get out,and if I remember correctly,he was actually proud of it at the time.
Hell,I had a kid lose at Toughman once,he was so worked up for the fight his fool ass had barely slept for three days before the fight, and he neglected to mention he wasnt sleeping,he went the distance, but still,he should have won.
Down here the ammie scene isnt that great so Toughman and Rough N Rowdy fills the void. Its the standard that the kids judge a gym, which is vaguley depressing, theyre more impressed by the Toughman winners jacket, then the pro's we have.A wall of trophies and medals, participant cards from all over the country, what impresses them?, a fake satin jacket from a semi-pro series of fights.
    Depressing really

Thats more or less what I did,I got my kid home, gave it a minute, and went back to see if we couldnt discuss it,he wouldnt even open the door,he just was yelling something from inside his house. I kept saying I couldnt even understand what he was saying from where he was,and it wasnt because I wanted to drop him,I just wanted to find out what his damage was, wasnt happening.
I think its really pissing him off that Im trying to be reasonable with him, which makes me think he was trying to set me up for a lawsuit. The more reasonable get, the more angry he seems to get.
I had to restrain a couple of boxers who I had to restrain from going down there and kicking his ass for me the other night.I had to explain to them,"I kind of think he wants that" though if the heavyweight had hit him,the money would be going to his next of kin. I mean Im kind of old,and it would be a two hit fight, this big son of a buck...............

    Not
    hahah
And you should take remedial reading because I specifically said my kid was in the NEXT room, not IN the room.
    Slight difference.
Its the difference between a drunk trying to get in to a pissing contest to re-assert his manhood, and a drunk putting a loaded piece against your temple.

What the fuck!? If it's not bad enough that YOU, with all your "toughman" cups, want to beat up a CRIPPLE!!!

Now boxers (you supposedly train.. what's their names? ) want to beat up the CRIPPLE!!!

What exactly are you scared of? Seems like you're harassing him. Why can't you ignore him?
