But after reading the story, I'm with a few others... not really a boxing story per se, or one that involves boxing at all. Just some sort of drunken hillbilly shit with a gun.

Not a classic anecdote, really. And frankly, a bit of a mislead. Should have been titled something more like, "Some Days I Hate Living In West Virginia with all this White Trash."
Not at all. I'm with Trainer on this one. If you are trained in the art of pugilism, or some other martial art, then if push comes to shove your training will be held against you in a court of law. Makes perfect sense. Your training puts extra legal onus on you to avoid physical conflict with the "general public" as much as is reasonably possible.
Bingo, when you go up the ranks in the martial arts, any martial art including boxing, you should be warned, that if you deck the SOB,you might be held more accountable then the other guy.
Its assumed you have more control and more training,so you could have avoided laying him out.
I know thats horseshit, but thats the way it is,I mean anyone whose fought in any martial art knows you take the shot thats there, you dont have time to be a discerning shopper, but that isnt the way the court will see it.

I must admit this thread comes across like one those classic 'You best hold me back guys, else I'm going to kill him, hold me back, HOLD ME BACK!!!, ........Damn he was lucky you held me back' type stories.

As for your pugilistic skills meaning you'd get into trouble for hitting him, I think this applies more to actual professional fighters whose bodies are lethal weapons, rather than a guy who hangs a punch bag in his garage. You'd could have hit him and been fine.

Yeah,Gold and Silver at the Reading invitational in martial arts, the trainer of the only pro in Southern WV,a Toughman and a Rough N Rowdy champ to me credit as well, yeah Id have have been okey dokey,as long as your version of it involves the pokey. Especially since even though he's acting like a douche,he's a local boy,and Im not, he grew up around here, and I moved here 4 years ago.
Even you Bilbo, can do that kind of mental math

Don't know all that to me sounds a bit like Al Bundy and his 4 touchdowns in one game in High School football.

I just found the 2007 Rough n Rowdy championship fight on youtube.

I dunno man it kind of seems a step down from Thunder's trailer park belt.

On the bright side, it was fun watching the Star Wars kid get ktfo.

Bilbo, when you get 4 touchdowns, you can hang out with me and Al,until then stick to obsessing over which poster could be compared to a fictional young adult book series.

Hey I came second in a local chess competition last month, I guess that means I shouldn't debate you because I'm too much of an intellectual heavyweight

Don't fret I'm only joking with you Monkey, you post a stupid thread up like this you deserve some flack, it's the Saddo way of things.

If you think I'm being out of order though blame Fenster, his remark about how the cripple must have thought you looked like a plum had me rolling on the floor and I couldn't resist joining in.

But it's all in good humour buddy, we all take the piss out of each other on here, it's good fun all round.

    hahah

My guess is a dude is holding a gun in your face with your kid in the room you aren't really thinking about prison because the system is out to get you. But I guess everything is out to get TM.

    hahah
And you should take remedial reading because I specifically said my kid was in the NEXT room, not IN the room.
    Slight difference.
Its the difference between a drunk trying to get in to a pissing contest to re-assert his manhood, and a drunk putting a loaded piece against your temple.
