Default Forgetting The Antonio Margarito Controversy I Gotta Say.

Well done to Shane Mosley he proved me and alot of other boxing fans wrong, and as i have said and i will repeat it i have been Shane Mosley fan for along time and i have the threads to prove it.

But i hadn't seen the old Shane Mosley in awhile even though he went pretty much even, with Miguel Cotto and i had the fight a draw. I didn't think Shane Mosley was anywhere near his best which is too his credit.

But boy did he bring his form back tonight, Shane Mosley seems to go through of patch, of good/bad form in the last several years. And i don't know how he keeps coming back but he does.

He fought a perfect game plan by clinching to stop Antonio Margarito attacking/coming forward. He countered beautifully by ducking/slipping and rolling with the shots.

His flicking jab was also really on form tonight as was his workrate, he upped the workrate quite alot which i didn't think he could do. And when Antonio Margarito would try and fight back.

Shane Mosley would put him in his place with lovely fast flowing combinations, which was another which that was impressive tonight. And he kept it going for a sustained amount of time not only in 1 or 2 rounds, like he did in the Ricardo Mayorga fight.

Also his power which i've also said in the other thread, suprised me tonight i knew he had very good power at Lightweight. But i didn't think he had as much power as Welterweight as i remembered.

Maybe its because i've been remembering the recent Shane Mosley recently, and forgetting about the old Shane Mosley. But overall an amazing fight from Shane Mosley he dominated Antonio Margarito from start to finish.

Finished him in good fashion and is now got back into the top 10 again, and i think he deserves a rematch with Miguel Cotto. And i think he would beat Miguel Cotto in a rematch if he's in the same form he was in tonight.

    Congrats to Shane Mosley.

I think Shane can beat Cotto if they were to rematch. The first fight was real close and Cotto barley edged it. But Shanes last two fights have ended by ko so its hard for me to bet against Shane since hes on a roll. I dont know we will just have to see how Cotto does against Jennings but as of now im rolling with SSM.

And the new king of the welterweight division Sugar Shane Mosley!!!!!!!!!!

yeah man. I have to agree. Shane is the king of 147. Amazing performance. Dude was throwing some serious leather in there tonight. Veins popping out his neck and forehead and everything.

It was a brilliant showing. I actually dont think Mosley was that bad against Mayorga. I think a lot of people underestimate Mayorga, he's a tough awkward fighter. The Cotto fight was also very, very close. So Mosley hadnt slipped all that much IMO.

But he absolutely destroyed Margarito. No room for any doubts there. And it sets up a Cotto rematch brilliantly. I would much rather see that than Cotto:Margarito 2. Margarito doesnt deserve another pay day so quickly, especially if this hand wrap situation is confirmed.

Actually, who am I kidding?? I would love to see Cotto beat up Margarito in a rematch. All good fights to be made. Cotto deserves his revenge. But a Mosley: Cotto rematch is an enticing one.

Of GBP's grandpas (B-Hop, Hoya, Mosley, JMM), Mosley is it... He's the best grandpa in there fighting like close to prime skills and abilities...

For those who say it was vintage Mosely, I say they are wrong. Mosely was better tonight than he has been in the past. He threw more and was much more aggressive until he softened Margie up (which he did unlike anyone I've ever seen.) Good job Shane!
