Correct me if i'm wrong here but what i noticed most in this fight was Margarito on returning to his corner at the end of round 1 looked shot!
Have a look at the end of Round one with the close up on Margarito, he definitely wanted to be somewhere else other than in the same ring as Suger Shane Mosley who bullied the bully the whole fight.

If you look closely Shane landed a real hard body shot and after that margarito didnt throw shit after that until the round was over. If u get body work in on him early he has nothin no power no pressure nada.

I was SHOCKED seeing Shane just BLUEPRINT Margarito...he gave the HOW TO GUIDE of how to whip Toni's ass. I am now really looking forward to Cotto coming back and avenging his loss.....a beat down like Toni got can end careers.

After Cotto's victory I thought one of Margarito's weapons was HIS CHIN. Cotto's been known for having power in his punches but still, Margarito walked through them like a tank. Since Mosley didn't look as if he was going to knock out Cotto, I thought his punches would be no threat against Margarito, I was wrong.

Margarito looked slow but that didn't surprise me. Margarito is not known for his speed. He couldn't execute his plan. Mosley used his speed to prevent from getting connected and kept punching and retreating. Good plan.

I have the same felling, especially if we consider Margarito’s age; but I hope we’re wrong. Welterweight division (the best IMO) already lost PBF and Paul Williams, Shane will not be around for too long I guess and Pacman is not really a ww. Tony’s fans or not we still need him and I hope also he’s innocent, if is not it will be a dark spot on this sport.

I'm not making excuses for Margarito's loss, but his camp claims that after Tony's win over Cotto, he had traveled to several countries and packed on some weight. Apparently he had trouble taking off the weight.

He weighed in under 147, but they said it was very tough on him and that they are going to consult a nutritionist and discuss the possibility of moving him up to 154.

they still want a rematch with Cotto, so maybe they'll go once more at 147. They claim he's too big to keep fighting at 147 for much longer.

Margarito didn't look even close to 100%. I think Mosely would have beat him at 100% too after seeing the performance, but he definitely looked out of it.
