I think you just answered your own question, Floyd Mayweather has never had too use all his skillset while being in 5 different weightclasses. Is incredible and if he is forced to use all his skillset against Shane Mosley. Then wouldn't the smart money be on the fighter, that in your opinion hasn't had to be at 100 percent to win in any fight ?
And that fighter is Floyd Mayweather. He has never been in trouble because he is so well schooled so gifted, he has the technical skills of Hopkins who had the ability to nullify guys like Pavlik and Calzaghe's offense so that they could land almost nothing effective. Mayweather has so many facets to his game, and that isn't even including his amazing physical gifts, he's one of the fastest guys in the sport, he probably has the fastest footmovement, and based on compubox he is by far the hardest fighter in the world to hit, and unarguably one of the best defensive fighters ever.
Mosley is a great fighter, but can you argue he's one of the best ever in boxing at anything besides athletic ability?
that's my point...is that what will floyd do when he adapts then has to adapt again and again all while trying to maintain his defense...listen man don't get me wrong, i've said for a long time that PBF is the best since Roy Jones. I've also stated that if he leaves the sports without making fights with cotto and mosley there's no way he can be rated best of his generation. He retired to protect that record and it pisses me off.
I even stated that if they do fight i'd be pulling for floyd because i want to him retire undefeated, but only if he beats the top fighters from his era. He hasn't. There's is also no justification for fighting oscar over shane other than money. or baldomir, or judah, or hatton. Fights with cotto and shane should have happened already. even before they fought each other.
