I dont know the exact protocal in a last minute situation, and this might be easier said than done but it should have been scratched altogether.Barrera tells them, forget it.

He has absolutely ZERO to gain going through against a 1-8 (??) unknown and everything to loss...and he did.Holding up an obligation to local promotion is nice but at this point in his career,he needs to think about himself and immediate future.....looking for one last hurrah.

Surely he faced very little 'boxing' risk from this guy but if he was last minute with a record like that, his sloppy skills and lack of technique ? had to be much more of a threat,if that makes sence?? Watched it just now....that looked intentional as hell.

    The full fight

Barrera looks a tad slower and his power didnt really bother his opponent who has been stopped before.

It also looked like to me he didnt' do a particularly good job of closing the distance.. the other guy ran alot and barrera pretty much let him side step him and back off again when he did close the distance... this is exactly how Khan fights, only he throws a lighting fast 4-5 punch combination then backs off before people can fight back.. and rinse and repeats.

Although I have to say Barrera looked a lot sharper than I expected him to be.. I'm looking forward to this fight alot. But I'm sticking to my original prediction, Khan by UD.

It was a blatant headbutt so Rojas was disqualified

joey uk - Khan does run like Rojas you are right but this guy was in survival mode from the opening seconds. Khan can do the same but he wont win any rounds. If he wants to win he has to fight. You also have to remember Barrera only has to hit as hard as Limond and Gomez and Khan is on the deck. Plus who has Khan ever faced who has Barreras speed.

I don't think so, he went straight in head down. As if to ensure if he got cut it would in no way be a problem as it would be the top of his noggin.

ok. I can't view the youtube fight so I can't comment on how he is looking (and I've been watching for a long time so I figure I could tell how much slippage there is) I can't comment on whether I think he looked slow, was taking a look at his opponent, going through the motions. He's been in ugly fights before that have gone the distance but again I'm unable to view youtube.

I figure the fight went ahead because a. he was contracted to fight and b. he wanted to get some rounds under his belt.

If the Khan fight is in danger because of the cut it should be postponed and not some last minute nobody put in his place. The fight imo has been sold on the name of Barrera and not Khan vs Tom' Mato-Can

I dont think Marco could have stopped this guy. This tomato can was too elusive, too defensive for his own good(career), and did not seem to be in danger of getting KOed with one single punch. I thought this nobody would have survived till the final bell.

If this fight have gone the distance, imagine the negative repercussions it will bring.... I will leave it at that.

There's talks in the paper that the Khan vs Barrera fight could be called off due to the sliced eye Marco recieved in his previous bout.Im very surprised to see him fighting soo early before the fight with Khan in March,,,,,"Why"is the question??Barrera looked very average but im sure he was just treating the fight as a warm up fight. There's one last big fight in the dog yet.I cant understand why he fought that fight though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Barrera looked fine to me. The other guy had no intention of fighting and Barrera was winning the rounds handily. Glorified sparring really.

yvonne - the 31st of Jan fight was already scheduled.

I've heard lots of versions of the fight. e.g the headbutt was the only thing he landed
No laughing matter if I'm outta pocket £300

Warren you listening? Postpone the fight 2-4 weeks. We want what we paid for Mr.Barrera vs Mr.Khan not some scrub.
