Default New football boots (soccer boots to our cousins)

Chaps, need a new pair of football boots since mine are knackered.

I play pub sunday league and position of centre mid. Have always gone for Puma Kings because they are fantastic and never really had a problem with them but fancy trying something else. Need something thats relatively light, offers decent protection for tackling and is durable with a good feel.

Not interested in Nike Vapors like ronaldo wears because unless you play like him, in Sunday league you will get kicked to bits (i occasionally do a bit of the kicking)

So nothing too fancy. never tried preds...anyone worn em for playing in?

I'd go with Nike Vapors. Very nice. And I don't even play that useless sport.

    Adidas World Cup. Awesome boots.

They would look fine at Sunday league. A lot of pro's wear them too.

As a kid I used to wear Puma - Kings.

Since I turned about 14 I started wearing Adidas - Copa Mundial.
Will never play with any other cleats but those.

The best in the bizz IMO.

Just 2 years ago or so it was the 25 yr. Anniversary for the shoes and I ordered them came with a cleaning cloth and cleaning cream and wooden shoe stretchers. Along with a adidas key chain the toungue of the shoe is printed in German and in blue letters to indicate the special edition shoe.

Regular Copa Mudial shoes are printed in black letters and in English.

    Go for the Copas mate.
Also I play on a Sunday league and have been for some 4 yrs. now.
We just won the Cup last season about 6 weeks ago.

Thanks guys am going to go an try a pair of World cups on later today. Copa Mundials are moulded and with the English weather i need SG boots. World cups are the soft ground version of Mundials anyway i believe. So the same boot but with different stud formation.

To be honest they look perfect, one of the other lads wears them and says he's always worn them. Most wear predators though or weird coloured puma things made out of what looks like canvas.

The adidas looks like a 'proper' football boot

Never worn Nike boots, something about them turns me off

Ive tried alsorts, line 7, Quasar when Gary Lineker used to wear um (Grampas 8 days) had a few pairs of lotto boots, diadora (bright yellow) Used to get ribbed to fuck about them, free kicks, pens (hes bound to score, he's got yellow boots) More often than not they'd have to shut up pretty quickly, when it went wrong I looked a proper cunt.................................a cunt with yellow boots.

You cant go wrong with Puma kings. Dont change for the sake of it mate, if you find something thats better suited to you then go for it, but until then, stick with what you know
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

LOL ' cunt with yellow boots'

Cheers Memph, have always worn kings but just fancy a change for some reason. Have worn kings since i started playing in the forces at 17! thats 2 years!!

Will try the world cups as they seem to be a well regarded boot and see how i get on.

Yeah people who wear bright coloured boots get shit on Sunday and do get kicked. I haven't seen anyone wearing the pink vapors yet, seen a few green ones, they get shit and get kicked. Also seen someone wearing a bright blue and yellow pair of pimpled boots that have the pimples all over them, very odd. Boots like that are shyte for a midfielder anyway since they offer sod all protection.

Mick, just read something on some other message board re Mundials...they are made out of K-Leather..Kangaroo leather (same as kings) and apparently it is illegal to wear K-Leather in Cali.

You wanna watched you don't get yourself nicked mate!

In my defence the yellow boots were a snap purchase. It got really brick hard one summer on our pitch so needed some moulded studs, the yellow Diadora were 7 quid so they fitted the bill

I used to play against this kid from another local side who had red boots and a serious knee brace. I used to kick the fuck out of him for both reasons Lost count of the amount of times I left him on the floor crying.

Nah, they don't inspect our shoes for leather.
They inspect us for earings, chins guards and studs.

Also you might want to try the Beckenbauers similar to the Copas but a different fit.

Always wear metal studs, got Fils which are leather, had umbro ones but the best ones were the puma.

Got blades when the ground is harder in the summer, like slippers, very comfy.

    Indoor back to the puma.
